Normally I'd agree. Privately I see the STL as part of the language. They've just separated that part into something you can modify. So I give it some leeway. All languages come with some sort of framework implicit in their design.

No, STL just standardizes the way the hard shit is implemented. It doesn't make things easier, and wasn't designed to do so.

Well it certainly makes it easier for me to do things like- "Oh I need a container with these particular performance characteristics - I'll just use this"
It's certainly easier than designing lists, vectors, and maps myself.

Can't laugh about that right now. A year ago I got to drive my car home for the holidays. I could not drive since then, because my vision got worse and worse over the holidays. Just two eye operations and eleven injections in each eye later, I could order a new set of glasses today. Next week I can just pretend 2020 did not happen and begin where I left off a year ago.

This one happened to have come from a CP email-offer. I clicked the link in my email and went to a page to download their ebook document. One had to fill in some info (name, email, who I work for, etc) and click a download button.
First, however, one had to check a box that one agrees to their privacy terms and conditions.
Absolutely no link on the page to see those conditions. In fact, nothing else on the page except the fill-ins, checkbox, and download button.
So I closed the page. With no other links on the page, this is well past and oversight (as I see it, pun intended). It's a bit of a sleeze factor. Alternatively, showing a lack of competence in terms of QC.
