Of course he won't; the contents of that bottle are not gin.
If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

1) Because it means you are getting old.
2) Because suddenly you can see better...
The second of those may not seem like a problem - but when did you last have a good look at your keyboard?
New varifocals mean that for the first time in years I looked at what I spend a lot of time touching. Bad idea. Filthy - and I don't eat at my desk for just that reason...
So. Unplug it, out with the stiff paintbrush. Then that leads to the the rubber gloves. then the Screwdriver. Disinfectant. Needle nose pliers. Wire brush. Biohazard yellow disposal bags. Bleach.
I'm amazed I didn't infect you all with something really nasty just by typing on it...
All cleaned now. All working. Whole spare cat in loose fur remove, along with at least one small civilization...
When was the last time you had a close look at yours?

At least at work, when things get bad I spill coffee in it and get it replaced.

Just did the flip and tap. Not sure what some of the crud is that fell out...

My keyboard cleaning technique consists of:
a) Flipping it over
b) Shake-shake-shake
c) Good for another year

|

I do the flip-over-and-vigorous-shake once a month. Seems to get all my cookie and potato chip crumbs out.

I imagine your friend went on a liquid only diet shortly thereafter.

Cheaper, yes. But then I'd have to get used to it, and that takes me years...
They don't make these any more, and it's my second favourite K/B: Logitech Media Keyboard 967415-0403 Black 86 Normal Keys 34 Function Keys PS/2 Standard Keyboard-Newegg.com[^] Reasonably quiet, good feel, nice key sizes. And some extra keys that are occasionally useful. And the Zoom / music keys, which are well handy.
My favourite died eventually - it was incredibly cheap when I bought it, noisy, the keytop legends had worn off on most of the keys, but it was the fastest keyboard I ever typed on!

I completely understand. I am still using the HP keyboard that came with my first windows system from 1998. It just won't die! Here's hoping my next box has a ps/2!

You can get a little dongle to convert a PS/2 keyboard connector to a USB.
- I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.

You cleaned your keyboard? What a wimp. That's like rinsing your coffee mug, or Samson cutting his hair. And I thought your were proper too...
