In Win10 there is an app called "Snipping Tool" built in that does screenshots better than paint does/did.

Bloody hell Bram if MS just changed the things that needed to be done (they have not managed to achieve this feat EVER) how are they supposed to justify releasing and charging for a new version every year or so.
Your problem is that you have not trained your users to expect a regular upgrade with new features and don't give me any crap about if it ain't broke, MS are experts at breaking existing systems.
Never underestimate the power of human stupidity

Every User Interface change has a follow on effect of changing of training manuals, up to the setting up of training sessions. It is something we cannot justify to our clients. How much training have you had to understand the UI of MS-Paint? A textbox behaves exactly as expected, regardless of your application - it should not even need a manual nor a training session.

Today, I will be tasked with the burden of reinstalling Windows on one of my home PCs. I refuse to got o Win10, and will be reinstalling Win7. Mostly because it's a known environment in which all of my software functions reasonably well. I have absolutely no compelling reason to "upgrade" to Win10.

I've had to learn to launch it by typing "mspaint" in the start menu, rather than just "paint". Then after that first time, going back to typing "paint" includes it in the search results. Tons of options to also pin it just about anywhere.
Same deal with IE, they now go out of their way to hide it in favor of Edge, but it's still there and there's plenty of ways you can create shortcuts to it everywhere.

Question is - what will be the outcome?

Plenty money yes, but they have little patience for results/returns

A cats' coat contains up to 130,000 hairs per square inch, and is a serious dirt magnet. Did you know that the surface area of a single cat - if you include all of its hair, which researchers did in the interests of cleaner spaceships - is roughly the same as the floor space of the average developers' cubicle, while a sea otter has the same surface area as an ice hockey rink?

sooooo developers should start licking their cubicles to keep them clean?
(I guess not so bad as the ice hockey team licking the rink without getting their tounges stuck)

They would lick their own cubicles, after all cats lick their own backsides too.
