My habit is to make a snapshot immediately after installing the OS. Periodically I update it with OS updates. In most cases, that takes care of "works on my machine"[^] situations.

We get older, but movie actors/actresses in those movies stay forever young. What about a deep-fake that ages them as we viewers also get older!

Sure sure, Ron Howard playing Opie as he looks today.

...and change the script so the character then says "I'm getting too old for this"?
We already have those. They're called sequels.

I agree
Why look at women, if you can have a deep fake where they always young?
It's not like we want to see them age, like, being HUMAN.

I'm not getting older. It's the rest of the world that seems to be full of younger and younger people. So weird.

I find it "hilarious" that people who have found a "solution" on ChatGPT (or whatever), then come here to "get it running".

Chatting isn't coding. GPT does a lot, but I never heard about a project completed by it. Would you fly on a Jumbo driven by CHATgpt?
It's A, but not I. Means it is artificial but not intelligent, it just reproduces what it been fed. It's fed the internet and can give the illusion of intelligence by repeating. It isn't.
According to ChatGPT I'm a youtuber. Go look up my youtube achievements if you really need arguments.

I wouldn't go near an airport or even a air route that it might fly over ...

Humans did. We flew a commercial airliner over the Oekraine. The Dutch were not amused when shot down, but it failed to be a red flag. It flew over contested territory and got shot down, as it deserved.
Go ahead and flame me.
ChatGTP isn't political. It is rational, and humans are mostly not.

I've witnessed some very intelligent people write buggy code - it's just part of what comes with writing code.

It boils down to money. It needs to ship fast.
That's not intelligent, that's greed. One of the cardinal sins.

Yes, it's the unwinnable battle between sales teams and developer teams.
When it comes down to it it's the sales that pay our wages so yes compromises are made with regards to testing.

There is no battle. There's only salesmen where there is a product to sell. Without the devs, no product, no sales. The better the product, the more sales.

it is interesting.
I have been using AI to give me a quick framework for doing something. Primarily PowerShell lately. It does the main part fairly well and very quickly. To get it working perfectly though. Well you need a real coder who can look at a line and go well that won't work. I need to update that this way.
Also, I find since my primary language is something other than powershell. Having the AI give me the gist of the code kicks my brain into powershell mode so I can then finish the code fairly quickly. It gets me into that groove alot quicker than if I was to just start writing code on my own. With AI's help I wrote an entire directory search and conversion of data tables that were in Word into SQL and had them loaded in about 30 minutes. I would bet if starting from scratch it would have taken me hours(I am not that good at powershell).
Works for just about any code I have to write other than one of my primaries.
To err is human to really elephant it up you need a computer

You understand the concept of bite-sized; they come with AI generated "apps", that don't work.

Maybe it's smarter than we thought?
Someone asks it a homework question. It shows a "please wait" message, signs up for a new CodeProject account, posts the question in QA, and demands an "urgentz!!!1!" answer.
With the next iteration, it will sign up for two accounts - one to post the question, and one to post an obviously wrong answer. Since everyone knows that's the quickest way to get someone else to post the correct answer.
