I see your point but I think you may have crossed a line with that one.

Oh, yes, we know what we're missing.
1) Time wasted on idle chatter
2) Having our thought processes disrupted by noisy neighbors
2) Fire drills
3) Long walks to our cubicles
4) Quick sandwiches, grabbed because that's all that's still available when we get a break

Hi All,
The layout plans for the new office the firm is moving to have been released, I can see a Window! I like to be able to see the outside rather than the Day/Night indicators we have at the moment... it also appears we are close to Kitchen/Tea/Coffee facilities and the toilets are out of earshot (a plus!)
It seems it maybe good...

My first desk at my present employer had a view of quite a few large windows. Unfortunately, they were all views of the server room.
Now, having achieved some degree of status, I can look out over the parking lot.
Aspire! It's within your reach!

If you can see a window because it's an open office floor plan, it might not be as good as you hope.

I got a window seat after 5 years in the company, but due to the layout of the building I have to have the blinds closed for 50% of my working day if it's sunny, otherwise I'm blinded by glare.

No windows? Do they free issue the white noise generator? Does your company come from the dark ages?
Being near tea and coffee facilities is good but also you get a lot of footfall causing disturbance / annoyance!

Funny. The group I work with is in the direct center of the building. Because we're staring at monitors all day, we tend to remove 1/2 the fluorescent bulbs from the ceiling fixtures to reduce glare. So, we are normally referred to as "the cave" or the mushroom zone (lot's of stories behind the 2nd name). I am convinced that if a tornado hit the building, we would never know it until we went into the hallway....
But the mid-building bathrooms are right up against the area, and the cheap bastard who did the building re-work refused to install any sound deadening material. But, the toilets are like living near train tracks.... what trains?
At the moment, I am working from my home office that has two opening windows to let in the spring breeze. I can close my doors when the women of the house get too chatty, and I can play my music as loud as I want.
