I can't remember how I found the site - possibly through one of the many "newsletter" emails I used to be subscribed to.
The earliest reference I can find is a November 2002 conversation with Duncan Mackenzie from Microsoft, where I'd recommended a CodeProject article[^] in the comments to one of his blog posts.
(The old link is broken now, but the article is still up: Windows XP style Collapsible Panel Bar[^])

Super - you are one of the super oldies!

That's awesome how articles are still there almost 20 years.

Sandeep Mewara wrote: How does newbies come to know about CodeProject?
I would assume most find it the way I did...a Google search landing at SO with links to articles here. So it was back in 2006 when I found just what I was looking for here in an article. To download, I had to sign up and started to receive the daily newsletter. It was a year or so after that before I finally discovered the Lounge.

Agree - case with most of us. But I was more on how newbies create login and post questions right away.

Referral from a local dotNET guru. I am more Java oriented, but if you use Microsoft servers, you will need some dotNET fluency. Daily news has kept me hooked.

There is only one good, proper and true way to become aware of The Code Project: Divine Inspiration.

You enter a few web queries looking for information, and this site codeproject.com keeps coming up in the list. Eventually, either you get curious or you don't.

I stumbled across it 12+ years ago looking to solve an issue I was having. It's the articles and news letters that kept me coming back. a lot of the younger devs I know only SO, so I've pointed them here.
SO might give a quick answer, but not usually the 'why does it work this way' type answer.
|
|
|
|

Also, SO is mostly just Q&A. CP is way more than that, super articles with demo attachments. What more one can expect to try and learn (or use in case of need)

So I was having some problem with my email where I wasnt getting them. My site & email are hosted by Arvixe, which I'm looking to replace. After going through 'chat' tech support (no phone suppoert), they 're-synced' my email. Part of this 'fix' was to remove and re-add my email address to Outlook 365.
Now, I get emails, but all the subfolders are gone. When I use their web panel to log into my mailbox, all the subfolders are there. They're just not downloading into Outlook.
Just curious if anyone else has seen this, and is there a way to get them back.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
Everything makes sense in someone's mind.
Ya can't fix stupid.

Iris I had thought of that, but then again, I'm not a good pupil. The subject of eyes lens itself to some pretty cornea puns.

If you are going to raise your hand then you should wait until somebody asks before you speak.
Now go sit in the corner and think about what you've done.

Damn.
I even had "I" and "NATION" as I was trying to work "Inspiration", but I gave up as the wizard was playing tricks on me!
