WTF?[^]
Really? How stupid is this person?
What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question?

What's stupid?
She's right. It's ridiculous to tell deer to cross at dangerous places in the road. They don't understand traffic and cars, and there's no deer equivalent of the Darth Vader Green Gross Man to instruct them -- and even if there were, they don't watch TV, so they wouldn't see him.
While we're at it, we should get the weathermen to change what they do with all these hurricanes and tornados -- why the Hell do they keep sending them where people live?
Now, that is stupid!

She is absolutely correct! Instead of "Deer Crossing" the sign should read "No Deer Crossing" and it should be turned to face oncoming deer, so they can clearly see it.

I retain enough optimism in humanity that I would like to think that this was a joke posting.

From what I know, she was deadly serious.

In evolution, deer came before man (I think!).
So, when the deer first came across humans, they would have put the 'Humans Crossing' sign somewhere, which was in 'deer-sign-language'.
Now, the times have switched.

There is a follow-up link in YouTube where she is reunited with the hosts of the radio show. What comes across is how hard it's been on her since this was posted. She made a mistake and now she's the butt of the joke. She hoped it would die down once people stopped sharing the link. I feel sorry for her. At one stage or another, we have all said something stupid. It's unfortunate for her that she said it when YouTube was around.

Had I drunk an entire bottle of whiskey when I was six years old, it would still have been a push to get me to say something that stupid.
I'll bet she has kids and "looks after" pets, too.
And she has the right to vote.

Why Contracting Sucks Today

«I'm asked why doesn't C# implement feature X all the time. The answer's always the same: because no one ever designed, specified, implemented, tested, documented, shipped that feature. All six of those things are necessary to make a feature happen. They all cost huge amounts of time, effort and money.» Eric Lippert, Microsoft, 2009

Either that or my gf will be seeing less of me. It probably means fewer articles for a while, as this is a full time contract position, and frankly, I'm looking forward to banking some of the $.
