There was a sequence error in the "human dressing ritual" instruction manual.

The code and explanations given in the links there are really worthy of study; and emulation.

I'm used to see more than 11.5 million users when I open CodeProject's site. But today, I see this 10,500,000 members (56,056 online)
First I thought that the database was cleaned up and some users got deleted... but what are the odds to remain exactly 10,500,000?
So, what happened?

The hamsters were on a work to rule: it took contract re-negotiations to get them to count above 10,500,000 again.
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

It's understandable - if you counted one a second, without mistakes, and without stopping to eat, drink, sleep, or run around in your little wheel, it would take you 121 days, 12 hours and 40 minutes to count to 10,500,000.

Must be a caching problem - mine says, "11,564,533 members (57,360 online)".

Now I have the same value also, but that is no caching problem (unless data was cached for years) - that value definitely was shown by the site.

Mine says: 11,564,533 members (49,479 online)
That means that when I connect, 7,881 members scram.
I have now developed a rejection complex and I want psychotherapy (and, of course, the fun drugs that the teenagers are doing these days at taxpayers expense).

And nobody noted that in my first title I had 0.5 million more missing - 11.5 - 10.5 = 1 not 1.5 (and i used to be good at math)

1.5 is "More than" 1.

Like Richard stated, it might be a caching matter, since I see 11.5 million members, with about 54,700 online.

Yes, except that there are now nearly five-hundred-and-seventy-eight-thousand-million of us.
It’s all right, the others aren’t here at the moment.

I basically want to have a recipe for a project that I want to create. Well its more a question of finding the correct 'ingredients' that would be needed to solve the needs of the project.
I am a C++ programmer, and I want to create a R128 sound level meter but I don't really know what subjects to research.
So I will probably use one of the new C++ GUI frameworks that use the latest compilers for C++. I would need a library that allows me to extract the audio data. Anyway you see what I am getting at.
What is the most appropriate place to get advice on what building blocks will be needed (and new knowledge acquired)
