Do your own frigging homework!
If something like this is too challenging for you, go pick a different profession because if you cannot solve this on your own, real world problems in software development will be too much for you.

I can tell you:
Console.WriteLine("12345");
Console.WriteLine("4321");
Console.WriteLine("321");
Console.WriteLine("21");
Console.WriteLine("1");

if you have a simpler solution, don't hesitate and post it!

this weeks tips:
- make Visual display line numbers: Tools/Options/TextEditor/...
- show exceptions with ToString() to see all information

No, I do not have a simpler solution.
But I think that the task was to find out how to generate such output with a loop not just a couple of WriteLine statements... I suppose that data posted by Shen was just a sample - the program should be able to generate any number of such sequences.

I'm using Visual Studio 2005 and writing a C# MDI form appliction.
I insert a menustrip and toolstrip into a child mdi form. I then, click on the respective SmartTags and Inserted Standard Items. But when I run the program, Toolstrip shows up, but the menustrip doesn't show.
Any ideas why?

By default, the MenuStrip items will be merged with the MDI parent's menu. So you should see them on the main form's menu. You can disable this by setting AllowMerge[^] to false on the child MDI form. Or you can customize how the items are merged using the MergeAction[^] and MergeIndex[^] on the individual menu items.
Take care,
Tom

Thanks Tom
It works just as you say.
I have another question.
The child's ToolStrip AllowMerge Property is set to true, yet it does not merge with its Parent's ToolStrip.
Do you know how I can set it to merge with it's parent.
Thanks again, in advance.

There's a bug[^] with merging ToolStrips. Basically, you will have to perform the merge yourself.
Take care,
Tom

Thanks Tom
Based on the MSDN links that you shared, I manage to get the Child's ToolStrips to merge and unmerge.
Solution:
In Parent MDI Form, insert an event handler called MdiChildActivate. This can
be done via the Properties Grid. Then, insert the following code within this
event handler:

private void MainForm_MdiChildActivate(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
ToolStripManager.RevertMerge(toolStrip1);
if (this.ActiveMdiChild != null)
{
try
{
ToolStripManager.Merge((ActiveMdiChild as PictureForm).toolStrip2, toolStrip1);
}
catch (Exception err) { };
}
}

MainForm is the parent MDI Form, toolStrip1 is the Parent's Toolstrip, toolStrip2 is my child's ToolStrip and PictureForm is my Child MDI Form.

I am trying to create a data-posting mechanism in my winform application.
The application has one MDIparent and another main form in it.
I have added another form with a datagridview. What i want is for the user could enter the data in the datagridview such that data is saved there in the application and can be pulled out by the virtue of an identifier.i.e. each row of data can correspond to a 'Date'. And whenever the user wants to pull up that saved data respective to that particular date, he/she can do it just by clicking a date in the calendar.
I also want to make the column in the datagridview, just like the access. In access, we can make a filtered selection of data in the columns.
Any ideas?

I'm developing a windows application in C# .net 2005 with crystal reports. I'm having problems desplaying the report. Is there any place that I can set the default size of the report to A4 independent of the printer. If I provide a valid printer that set the paper size to A4 then the report appears fine when I run the app and open a report. But If I dont have a printer installed for reports(A4) and have other printers installed (with different paper size) then the report not showing properly. Even if I set no printer, in printer setting option It takes the paper size of the default printer in the machine. I cant just change the paper size to A4. I want to open my report as A4 when I don't have a report printer in the machine.
Can anybody help me.

HI,
I am working on a POC project. I am using Winforms 2.0 with .net 2.0. I am developing my forms with monitor resolution as 1024 X 678. In this resolution forms are looking pretty good. When I change the resolution to any other then forms are filling only some portion of the screen.Can anybody have ideas or examples for how to develop the resolution independent winforms.
Thanks

I always find it helpful to anchor form elements relative to the 4 corners of the screen. That way (assuming that you are not trying to fit too many controls on the form) if resolution changes, the controls stay relatively reasonable.
