You're obviously confused, seeing as you've asked in the C++/CLI forum. So, do you mean C, or C++ ? Either way, the answer is probably, you can't. 'standard C' has no concept of file systems and folders, you need Win32 APIs to iterate over folders and look for files.
Please ask any C++ questions in the visual C++ forum. This forum is for C++/CLI questions.

Hi,
i am another C++ noob in the big big world
I tried Teamspeak Overlay which "hooks" directx to overlay games.
Now i want to make a little tool which shows a countdown timer over a game (i need it for no rush games ) with a button to activate. I have a lot experiance with PHP but its only a scripting language...and no time to learn C++.
Anyone out there who can do it for me, give me the source code so i can play a little bit around?
Dont know whether its much work cause i have no experiance with C++...

Sorry, this is not the appropriate place to ask your question.

What you want is so specialised, you'd do better to find an algorithm, find out how to access bitmap pixels in Java, and work from there. Google is the tool you need to find the site you want.

I don't think there are many C++/CLI samples for this, but if you instead use regular C++ ( and therefore ask in the C++ forum ), the DirectShow SDK almost certainly contains samples. You'll need DirectShow to do this, in any case. Even in C++/CLI

so i need directshow sdk so i can do that and they got samples of how to write that code to do what i want??? i need to do it in C++

OK, then you're asking in the wrong forum. This is the C++/CLI forum.
Yes, you need directshow, which is now in the platform SDK. There are samples on CP, in the SDK, and generally on the web.

They are both things that are easily found with google.

hi all,
i want to create a user friendly interface for other MS products the question is that VB.NET sends string value and C++ APIs require char*
project consist of VB application -> C# class library -> C++ class library(managed)
Now, when i create a function which accepts char* it raises error cannot convert string to char*
and when i change the function to System::String it is pain to convert it to char* can any one please tell me how to make it work
Thanks!

what is the meaning of following declaration
typedef void _TY;
Thanks,
kalaveer.
|
|
|

Before answering this question, let me tell you. This question should be asked in VC++ forum.
kalaveer wrote: typedef void _TY;
Its a used to synonyms. In code above, now _TY foo(); declaration is actually equivalent to void foo();
Some times it is better to use typedef .
eg.
typedef char* PCHAR;
PCHAR can be easily used throughout the code as synonym of char* .

I have a C++ assembly that contains managed and unmanaged code. I can set breakpoints within the unamanaged functions, but they will not be hit. When I run debugging, full red circle in unmanaged part becomes an empty one and it says "The Breakpoint will currently not be hit. No executable code is associated with this line". Interesting thing is, this code does get executed, because i can see the results. I can debug managed code without any problems. Help?

In all your projects, set the Debugger Type to Mixed rather than Auto (which is the default setting). Plus, make sure that you generate the debug info for all projects.

thank you, but problem was in C# gui for that project. If you don't check "enable unmanaged code debugging" there nothing else helps.

I understand you have an unmanaged regular C++ DLL that you are using in a C# executable, am I right? If so, try setting the DLL as an active project, and specify the C# exe as a debug executable for that DLL.
Also, don't forget about the working directory if you are accessing data from relative paths.

No, actually I have a mixed C++ DLL and am using a C# executable. But no worries, I already solved my problem as I wrote earliear.
