Suppose i use active-x control or make an abc.dll and add it in my project as reference.
then i make setup and deploy it on client machine.
Now on client machine [path] C:\programfiles\myproject
will contain that abc.dll.
Is client can re-use that abc.dll or active-x dll in another project by exposing its methods etc?
Because it will be naked on client machine.

Unless you put some form of licensing in place, then yes - the client can reuse the DLL in another project.

On a directory structure i want to break the inherited access rules on a folder and apply a new rule. To remove the inherited rule i use the following code snippet.

I'm not 100% sure but as far as I know you cannot remove inherited rules - but you can just override them.

Hi,
I've got the solution:
There is a method "DirectorySecurity.SetAccessRuleProtection(isProtected as Boolean, preserveInheritance as Boolean)" which allow to break or set the inheritance. So I only have to replace in the code snippet above the line
ds.RemoveAccessRuleSpecific(fsar)
with
ds.SetAccessRuleProtection(True, False)
to remove alle the access rights inherited from the folder above and set new access rights for the folder and its children.

I have a WebBrowser and I'm using it like this:
webSummary.DocumentText = temp;
Where temp is a string containing som text and sometimes a tag. If the string contains a link to an image the webbrowser will totally freak out. It will flicker, constantly updating and you can't scroll or anything.
Any suggestions how to fix this?

I have got a solution file that contains multiple managed code projects, and some projects have dependecies/references(Project References),when i compile/build a particular project through MSBuild it compiles/builds the project and dependencies of that project too, is there a way/flag of MSBuild so that it shouldn't compile/build the depedencies

Dear All,
i have developed a desktop based application using C#.NET, which require access to some USB based devices.
I have to use this application on target PCs in which the USB port is disabled by the system administrator.
From the application, i wants to enable & disable the USB drives programatically, so that no other application can use the USB ports, as per configured by the system administrator.
ie, enable the USB port before the application require access to the USB port it & disable it after the use.
I need to achieve the same when the application is running in a login, who doesn't have administrative rights.
Is it possible to achieve the same using .NET framework?
Do any one knows how to implement the same. If so, please inform me.

Dear friends,
I am have five subreports in one crystal report made in visual studio 2003,
some of the features provided by crystal report developer are not available in VS IDE
I want the sub report section of the main report supressed when subreport
placed in the section doesn't have any records.

I think we need a little more info here. It sounds like your web site has never worked on this server yet. What error are you getting? Most likely the issue is in the properties of the web site. Usually it is something simple like on the documents tab you didn't set up the correct start page for your site. Something like that.

Hi All,
I am having a problem with list view.
Im adding Items to the list view at runtime from a database & accordingly changing the height of the listview.
but when listview height is greater than form height ,the listview is not scrolling accordingly.
Like Combobox items scroll independent of forms bounds,my listview should appear & behave like combobox.
Plz suggest me to get rid of this problem

I'm sorry, but if you can't answer these questions confidently and without help you really should consider whether the job is right for you and you are right for the job. When I'm hiring staff, I'm looking to see that THEY know the answers, not that somebody on CodeProject does.

If you know the answers, you know the wording. The issue isn't fluency in the language of the hirer, it's in knowing enough to convince a hirer that you have a mastery of the subject.

Also, if you don't know the answers, you should have enough familiarity with programming languages and theory that you should be able discern the meaning. Usually in interviews the technical questions only gauge your ability to answer questions, the real test is in the open discussion that probes at the heart of the knowledge and your ability to apply solutions to problems. When I was interviewing several months ago, I would get maybe five mins of questions like these, but the bulk of the interview was about theoretical constructs of writting an application and architecture.

I am sorry, but if you don't know it, you don't know it. Simple as that. Knowing a few random facts is not going to earn you a job. If you have what it takes, that will be clear in an interview.
