in the mainform:

inside the create method, just after the call to initialisecomponents:
theControl.RefreshTree = new ControlType.ClickEvent(this.RefreshEvent);
RefreshTree is just a name. You set the ClickEvent to be null, and when you check, it's still null. It needs to be give a value of a method in the main form.

Look i will explain what i am doing i have a main form in which on a menu click a usercontrol is loaded that is patientdetails. now if i click on a button on usercontrol i need a tree control that is on the Main form to get refreshed. i have done evrything similar to what u said but whenever i click on the button on usercontrol it does nothing.
This is the code for menuitme click to load usercontrol
PatientDetails PatDetails = new PatientDetails();
PatDetails.Visible = true;
PatDetails.Dock = DockStyle.Top;
MainPanel.Controls.Clear();
MainPanel.Controls.Add(PatDetails);

Ah... If your PatientDetails object is created on the fly, this is also where you need to set up the event. Something like
PatDetails.RefreshEvent = new PatientDetails.ClickEvent(this.RefreshEvent);
What you did is create a NEW PatientDetails object, and assign it ( and only it ) to have this event.

No worries. I said to put the code under InitializeComponents because I assuemd the control had been added in the designer. The point was just to do it after the control was created, but as soon as possible.

Hi everybody!
I've got this code:

Now I need to fill an ArrayList with all Car-classes I've defined in the Main-Method. How would I do the foreach-loop to find all variables of a certain type and add them to the ArrayList?

You can't. You need to rethink your approach. Perhaps you should just add them one by one as you create them.

It was just for testing purposes until I create a GUI so that the user can add them manually, so it's no problem.

Hi,
by clicking an execute button from my C# Application I want to start a process, that executes the DOS command window (C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe) and automatically run an explicit command, like "cd.." or "cd\" or "copy...".
I thought, it works like "Process.Start("iexplore.exe","http://www.google.de"). How can I realize it?

A managed resource is something that the garbage collector can remove without affecting other systems. Like an array of strings.
An unmanaged resource is something that the garbage collector can not control. Like a database connection.

we are making client/server application, we have client machine, application server and database server,
first I want to know what are the pitfalls of making all clients connect to database using single instance of connection placed on server that's mean that we will define database connection on the server and open it all the time??
second I want to know what are the benefits of making each application user connect to the same database user (ex. sa)??
if any one know anything bout this subject , please response asap

Contention. If more than one user tries to use the database at a time, they will have to wait.

It means you can more easily set up a connection pool, because all connections are usable by everyone. It also means that it's easier to set up the database, because there's no real permissions layer. However, this means you need to enforce your permissions in code.

It's better to have only one database user, because then you can pool connections, and they can be shared by all users.

The problem is in the underlying schema for the database. You either need to change the properties of the field 'docLName' to allow null values, or provide a value in the addnew()
