The ONLY reliable hardware identification system is a dongle. I've used ESecuTech[^] with good success in some of my applications. Getting the dongles programmed was a bit of a challenge, but once you have a process its relatively easy. This is the only consistent hardware locking mechanism I've found after a lot of research.
As posted above, the disk serial number is not reliable, and is not often reported. Especially when using RAID type drive architecture, that kind of information may not be returned if Windows can't see it as multiple physical drives. On top of that, some drives just don't report it.

Well Dinesh as you have not stated which technology you are using the answer cannot be specific. You have already stated how you do it, you test the logon results and decide if the user have permission to enter and what role they are taking. Then you NAVIGATE to the desired page/view/form.
The navigate method will depend on your platform ASP/WPF/Winforms.

I wish to show what the control does by hovering the cursur over it, right clicking, or some other means. Basically a help file which explains more detail about the control and its function.
Is there a way I can accomplish this.

ToolTip is the general method of adding help to a control, I have been known to add a help icon to each form and allow the user to edit their own help data, never happens of course!

Hi Michael,
It might be helpful to know if you are speaking "in general" here, or if you have a specific scenario in mind.
Is it the case that you want what is shown to provide information to persist until the user "tells it to go away," or is a ToolTip, which you do have some control over how long it stays visible, good enough.
Do you have a certain type of user in mind here: a programmer, for example; or, a very non-technical end-user ? I'm guessing you intend this for a programmer.
It seems almost 100% certain to me you are talking about displaying information while your application is running, but, if that's not the case, please do state that.

I agree with Abhinav S. Get a starters book somewhere and read it from A-Z. Don't start out too specific (like WPF or WCF), but rather a "Learning .Net with C#" kind of book.

Their are many standard publications who have good books but you should always buy books with label like beginner guide or absolute beginner guide or guide for dummies(no offense) and yes you must start with core c#, it hurts me too much when some random guy show up for interview and fail to explain Object callings and references.

Hi, i'm making text editor in c# with wpf. The editor apply changes (bold, italic, fontsize) only text selected for user.
how can I make the change occurs before typing the text in editor ?!

So, what you have in mind is that there is no text currently selected, but the Textbox has focus, and the insertion point is set somewhere, and you press a button, or something, and then the next characters you type are in bold, italic, etc., depending on what buttons you pressed ?
What have you tried so far ? What are you doing now, in code, that sets the selected text to bold, italic, etc. ?

Then, remember Word when press "I" for the Italic the cursor change and the text to. In my case i need input text and after select all text e press "I" for changes. But i want to work as the Word.
Now i use ApplyPropertyValue();

I want to design SSIS component when i load the package.
My goal is to reproduce the components contained in a package when I load it.
The package is loaded by c# , winform application , i can load package ( doc.LoadXml(packageXml))
When the xml is loaded, I retrieve the layout of the package and its components. . With the layout, I can get the coordinates of the component and redraw one by one.

I need to put 2 copies of the same dataset on a form. Then I can bind my 2 grids to one copy each and I can then supply different parameters to each dataset on the fill. I can't figure out how to get the second copy of the dataset onto the form... can someone advise please?

I think datasets have a method that's called copy and clone. see here[^] it effectively takes a deep copy of the object.
