I want to gather the Mac address in the diffrent subnet.
Now,My programe(C#) can obtain the PC and Printer's Mac address by SNMP.
But i can not obtain the switches' Mac address by the programe.
I think i should obtain the switche's Mac address by the same programe.
isn't it?
Maybe there are some forbidden in my VLAN.it is right?
urgent help!

Hi,
I am working on shared add-in in c# for Excel. Let us consider 3 components A,B,C. Where A is a Shim,B is Shared an add-in(used IDTExtensibility interface) which creates all tool bars, menu items for Excel and C is an automation add-in which contains UDFs.
I have static property in Automaion add-in(C) which set/gets Excel Application object. Whenever OnConnection(..) of shared add-in is called from the framework, I am setting the Excel application object using this property. So When I type some UDF in Excel, it uses this Excel application object for further work on Excel.
Recently I tried to remove the Shim and put the VSTO on it. When I use VSTo, it doesn't use shared add-in.Here also I set the Excel application object by using static property. Now I have I enabled this Auotomation add-in(add-in->Options->Automation Tab).But when I type some UDF in Excel cell, excel object is not available that is set from VSTO.How do I pass reference to Excel object to Automation add-in so that the same Excel Object is available in Automation add-in when we type some UDFs.
What I observed here is VSTO and Automation add-ins are working in different AppDomains.
Please help me.

I have installed the SNMP in my machine and the printer.
Now i can obtain the Printer's name and the other infomation.
But i can not obtain the total printing pages.
Can i use MIB to do it? Or by the other method.
Any help will be appreciated!

I googled the "Winsopller.drv",i have not found it.
is it "Winspooler.drv" or "Winspool.drv" which one is right?
By the way the printer is not connect with my PC,
it is in another subnet,
For Example my IP is "192.1.168.5"
The printer's IP is "192.1.167.23".
I also can use the API to obtain the printing total pages?

Seeking help\advise on how to go about designing a 100+ client server application (domain network) on windows (XP\Vista) desktop platform.

Hi,
I'm trying to get WebDAV implementation using some open source called Sphorium and Casinni Webserver. It is able to reach the destination folder but some time i'm getting the following error.
"Documents in this folder are not available. The folder may have been moved or deleted, or network problems may be preventing a connection to the server."
What could be the cause?

Check Directory Browsing permission. You must set directory browsing permission to true. This will allow to get it a list of files/folders.

List implements IList. It takes the features of IList and implements them. Also, you can only actually create a List - IList is just a contract, or an Interface. So, List is better.

If you take a normal List<T> and call it's AsReadOnly method then it returns an IList<T> , so I assume an IList can be readonly whereas a List can't. I've never looked into it so I could be wrong... just an observation I made a couple of months ago and figured I'd investigate one day!

IList is an interface from which all lists derive from. So, while List is an IList, the opposite is not true.
If you need a normal list, use the List class, if you need to build your own list with custom behavior (such as read only, for example), derive from IList.
If you want your method to accept as parameter different type of list from the standard one, use IList as parameter type.
If you want to hide the specific list type your method is returning, use IList as return type.

A method that accepts a List can only accept a List (or something derived from List), whereas a method that accepts an IList can accept anything that implements IList, not just List.

I doubt you can. The icon is embedded in the build. You would certainly need to change the icon of ANOTHER program, not the one with the code in it. Or do you mean the icon that's shown on the taskbar ? That is a property you can set in code.

I am able to see myClass and its property in DataGridView but when I set the value to my property, it is set to null automatically. Here is my class :

I have no idea why your property returns null, but if Caption is intended to do what I assume it is for, why not use the HeaderText property that your DataGridViewFinderColumn should have inherited?
This sets the text in the header cell, which is what I assume Caption is intended to do.

Hello Henry,
Actually this caption is not for the column header this value is passed to my user control that i need to add in to datagridview column. But when i set value to these properties it sets these property back to null.
Let me explain me the whole requirement :
I have made a user control which need some value to run like query, connection string etc for which i have made properties in that control.
Now I want to create new datagridview column of my user control type and need to forward values to my control for which i have use properties.
Whole thing is that i need to add my user control in datagrodview column and set its property. so that i can use it in grid.
