hi i just replied to one of member who thought i am spammer... Smile | :)

then i thought to reply to you, i don't know what way i harmed you or troubled you so you replied in such a way... i am little different from people who act before thinking so you are getting a soft reply.

any way, to clear some thing read below and think twice from next time onwards before replying to any one... if you don't know intention of person... it will reduce some headache from you as well as from the sender too... Smile | :)

i shall have told in starting that i am not doing any business advertisement thought these mails... i just want to collect birthdays of so many of my firends whom i will send this mail and automate this birthday collection...

thats all whole idea is... in place of asking each of my friend to give thier bdays which i never collected and stored properly i want to do it though automated thing...

thanks for your inputs. i was not aware if this is exactly what pishing does.

so today i learnt to at least avoid this kind of approach for any implementation needs.

Glad you learnt something today.

Another thought for you, consider that the people who you are sending your request to DON'T WANT to respond with their birthdays. Many of us refuse to disseminate this type of personal information to anyone but family and very close friends. That is why Griff responded so strongly. What you proposed to send to your friends is considered extremely intrusive.

yes, i will consider your thoughts...

may be i belong to india where people are more open and here sharing birthdates are not big deals and also not considered to be very secret information for onself to share with firends...

so i feel lots of contradition is there because of the way we live, the way our culture is... Smile | :)

that is there but still there are bunch of people that's our friends out of our family, with whom we share many things and bdate is one of them...

and of course everyone of us know whom of our firend we can ask and share how much...

any way what you told is absolutely right taking if any such details collecting thing is being attempted which will reveal our info to a person whom we woulnd't wish to share bday such details with...

My appologies if I offended you. However, if you are considering writing something that will make someones machine do unexpected things, you have to consider what the reaction will be. What would you think was happening if you recieved an email that did what you describe?

No need buddy. I do understand that at first my request looks like i am going to use it for spamming likd of thing, so it was even mistake from my side to keep unclear things out there...

regarding if it happens to me: Yes thats true even i will feel its pishing kind of but only if from unknown sender but if i know the sender also i can see what that promprt is asking to me mostly i can believe the mail

but still as all have suggested it's not good idea so i have dropped that thing and thinking to ping my friends some other way...

Thats part of the point, I guess - if it could open a window, it could send an email to your entire address book. Which would look like it came from a friend...

Hi just wondering if there is a simple way to force the form to reload.

"this.Refresh()" does not seem to work. nether does "form.Load";

private void VMCU_BlanktheDisplay()
     {
        try
        {
           //works but doesnt update screen

Above the code i have so far. It is for a screen update, as the update works it just doesnt refresh the form. Does anyone know what i can do?

If you want the form to repaint itself, call Invalidate(). If you want to reset your form to a known state, you need to write code to do that.

Thank you for the reply, i tried this however i think it was a problem with me not updating the picture box in my program and thats why it did not appear. As i was converting an array into an image and forgot about updating the image box.

I was pondering setting up a base class for an object and having multiple interfaces for object qualities that are optional. I was considering how I could set these up in XML and have them deserialized to be classes with only the interfaces that are used in the xml...

Such as:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<Class1 xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
  <Class1Boolean>false</Class1Boolean>
  <Interface1Int32>0</Interface1Int32>
  <Interface2String />
</Class1>

When loaded would produce a Class1 that has Interface1 and Interface2, but if there were no Interface2String in there, it would not implement that interface when loaded.

Suggestions?

Booth sends data to server, but on Server, it gives error as "Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted"

My code is as:
TcpListener tcpListener = new TcpListener(5500);
tcpListener.Start();

Error comes at tcpListerner.Start();

reason might using the same socket for more than one instance at the the same time, make sure you close all the sockets after use.
most of the times this happens, because of unclosed sockets,only one socket is allowed at a time with a specific ip and port
