Hi,
to better understand the problem,
I have a windows data grid with some data filled up.
now i want to edit only some cells (B5,B6,B7,B8) of 1st,3rd,5th row only in that datagrid,
B5- 5th cell of Row
B6- 6th cell of Row
.
.
.
i need sample code for this.

hai i have a vc6 dll to be used for my project. the problem is whenever i want to call some function which takes the parameter VARIANT* from vc6 application asks for a ref object parameters and I cannot retrieve the value needed.
So I used the interop marshalling techniques for this but still i have problems with that can anybody help me how to approach this problem

Hi people!!!
I had to develop an application that has to work as standalone and also as "add on" of some ERP systems. One of the things done in my program is to have an object serialized to an XML File.
It works 90% of the time... but under ONE of the ERP Systems (SAP) I get a System.InvalidOperationException: "There was an error generating the XML document", InnerException is "Could not load file or assembly 'Swissdec..."
What is driven me crazy is that this exception is generated inside that assembly...
Does somebody have an idea???

Happy new year to everybody!
I did some researches and what I understand is that my app does not generates correctly the "MyProject.XmlSerializers.dll" ... Or else it uses another xmlserializer instead of this one.
As said above my app is an Addon and is called from an outside application. This may confuse .NET and I found out that using the GAC may resolve the problem.... But I don't wanna do that. Any other suggestion would be appreciate!!!

Hi,
When i try to connect a client with a listening server, no connection is established. In the client, i get the LocatEndPoint as 0.0.0.0 : "port number".
It is ok in some particular system.
Here is the code for server listening :-

Hi there
Can someone guide me how to do Dos printing, with paper eject and margin set.
I am having a C# application with SQL 2000 i have data loaded into developer express grid. when the user selects print. it must go for dos based printing.
Right now i am writing it to a text file then tried printing i am facing alignment problem like if a line has 130 letters everything goes to a mess.
here is what i have to print

I'm not new to C#, nor to programming in general, however, I can't seem to find any information on this anywhere.
I need to know if there is any way to replace a reference to a managed library used by another library, to which I do not have the source.
Because that probably wasn't very clear, here's an example of what I mean.
I have a library, A.dll, that references another library, B.dll. However, the version of B.dll that is referenced is dated, and I want to replace it with a newer, more secure B.dll. I already know that its implementation will be supported, because nothing has changed in terms of how it is used. I cannot simply disassemble and reassemble the library, because one of the source files is unusable when I do so (I do not know why, to be honest. It just generates random symbols.)
Is there any way to do this?

Nevermind. It seems that I've been able to remedy the problem by disassembling it into MSIL, editing the assembly language to reflect the new library, and reassemble it. Problem fixed.

when i run my project,it's giving the error as
Unable to automatically step into the server. Connecting to the server machine 'soap.search.live.com' failed. The debugger cannot connect to the remote computer. I am busy with an NTier application that has a DataAccess project containing a DataSet, a DataEntities project containing the structure of the dataset, a WCF Service that handles the DataAccess calls to the DataAccess Project and a Windows Forms Project thast contains the forms.
I need to impliment validation and I have added the following to my datatable code.

hey guys,
i have three classes:
FormInput
BO_Storage
XmlMapper
FormInput calls BO_Storage and BO_Storage calls XmlMapper. The class "FormInput" communicates with the user and could/should be repleaced with a web interface or whatever. So now to the problem. When a Exception/Error in the XmlMapper occurs (No write access etc.), where and how should i handle it? Every class should be repleaceable without to change other classes (only minimally). I know certain ways to solve this problem, but how would you handle it? It's more a philosophical question

In .NET, you would expect to throw exceptions and let the calling code catch them and decide how to deal with them.

I usually have my class throw System errors when possible. Have them throw them, and catch those in the classes that use it.

We currently have a Webmethods Integration Server that sends and recieves XML from a customer and saves it to a file. I am trying to do the same thing using C#.NET 3.5. I am currently working on the sending.
I am using an HttpWebRequest to the secure site which requires a Client cert. The customer has provided us with a cert with a public key and their CA cert. I am trying to load these from the file and attach them to stream as I have seen in several tutorials as shown below:

I am getting an error "The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel." at the line commented above.
I'm new to SSL so I have a few questions.
1. Do I need a client cert with a private key? Obviously it works with the given certs in webmethods which is written in Java.
2. Do I need to add the certificates to the machine store with the user? If so what user and how would I go about that.

Hi All,
after updating the remote access priviliges of my sql server,
I am restarting the MSSQLSERVER using this code:
ManagementObject svc ... finding MSSQLSERVER
...
svc.Get();

svc.InvokeMethod("StartService", null);

I also start the SQLAgent process that stops when stopping the MSSQLSERVER.
I can see that all the processes are up and running, but my application
fails at the ExecuteReader line:
sqlConnection = new SqlConnection(connectionString);
sqlConnection.Open();
SqlCommand sqlCommand = new SqlCommand("select xx from xxs",sqlConnection);
SqlDataReader sqlDataReader = sqlCommand.ExecuteReader(CommandBehavior.CloseConnection);
this is the exception that I am getting:
{"A transport-level error has occurred when sending the request to the server. (provider: Shared Memory Provider, error: 0 - No process is on the other end of the pipe.)"}
Why is that  ?
What should I do to over come it ?

Perhaps you need to wait for the SQL Server service to completely start before executing a query against it?
You would probably need to run a test query against the database every so often until either the query succeeds or a timeout in your code is exceeded. This will tell you that the server is completely up or hasn't come up yet.

I tried waiting with the debugger.
I can see in the SQL server configuration manager that all processes are back, up and running.
If I stop my application and start it again, I am not getting this problem, therefor I don't think it's a problem of waiting ...
It looks like I am losing a connection between my application and the SQL Server - but I am not holding such a connection ... ?!

I just found in another forum (sorry ), that if I catch the transport-level error and run the query again - it will work.
I tried it, and it does work, but I don't like this solution and do not understand it.
Does someone have an idea to way it is and how to solve this nicely ?
