Pretty much the same as any other application when run from UNC. The software runs in the client memoryspace, so there are requirements that the client must have the .NET runtime installed (if not already installed, it's the responsibility of your software to download and install the runtime).

In addition to Pete's answer. There are also security considerations to take into account. By default the application will not run across a LAN unless the local machine is told to trust it.
You will find in the Administrative Tools on the client machine a thing called "Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1/2.0 Configuration" Use that to tell the machine to trust an assembly from a certain UNC path. Or you can strong name your assemblies and tell it to trust any assembly which has the appropriate Strong Name Key attached to it - that way you can move the assemblies around without having to reconfigure every machine.

 , Hi. If you developing web application runs through IIS. if you developing Window based than it runs after you building (Making .exe) you can run it by double clicking on it or run it through start run or explorer

ls -l [filename] will show you the length of a file in most Linux shells. I have no idea what that has to do with C# though.

i have one gridview in my application ihave filled my gridview with the values from database now i want one column to be hyperlink column.
When i click on any of this column value (i.e., filename)the file which is in the server system associated with that value has to be downloaded in the client system

One way to determine which version(s) of Microsoft Office are installed is to check for the registry hives: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\version number The version number will be 10.0 for Office 2000, 11.0 for Office 2003, etc.

I passed this query last few days till now no one cleared.Now iam changed to explain clearly.
I want to develop in windows Service appn in c#.First how to do the steps to create Windows Serice appn i.e,
Open new file and select Windows from project type and choose Windows Service appn this is the procedure in c#.What is my problem is using these appn i want to resrict to open (already created files in watever drive) the files.
I did one appn in c# using Windows Service concept to delete recently created .txt file (when you are going to create one .txt file in watever drive it is going to be deleted)it was successfully executed.

If you want to create a windows service...and don't know how....try these [^] links. All you have to do is search...This [^]tutorial explains how to create the setup project for your windows service. The article shows how to create the setup in VS 2003 but it's the same in 2005.

Using an obfuscater would do the job. VS has build in dotfuscater and here [^] you can find an article to show you how to use it.

That's really not going to do it. It can still be reversed - although (depending on the obfuscator), it's going to look like rubbish. Obfuscation doesn't really accomplish too much with regards to the code because it still relies on the IL. To test it, obfuscate a piece of code and then open it with Reflector - it will still open up OK.
