How to create a single instance of a application.Like when I will click the new button in an editor only one window will appear.when I will click the new submenu next time if the window is already exists then no window will appear.How to do it.

I have this line of code in a partially trusted assembly:
List<string> files = UpdateController.GetUpdateContents(updateFile);
It generates a SecurityException with the message "That assembly does not allow partially trusted callers.". However, I do have the following attribute in the UpdateController assembly, as follows:
[assembly: AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers]
Any ideas why this attribute is seemingly ignored?

I would delete my previous post if I didn't think this follow up may help some people. It was an easy mistake for me to have not checked the UpdateController assembly references as well. One of the referenced projects didn't allow partially trusted callers.
Always remember to check the whole chain.

Hi All,
i am using C#.net.And i am reading a file and then writing it to another file.
The code is as follows:
StreamReader reader = new StreamReader("Some Path"); <br />
StreamWriter writer = new StreamWriter( "Some Path", false );<br />
string line;<br />

while ( (line = reader.ReadLine()) != null )<br />
{<br />
if(some condition)<br />
{<br />
throw new ApplicationException("Unrecognised File Format");<br />

.....some more "if" conditions..<br />

writer.WriteLine( "\n {0} = {1},", sometext, somevalue);<br />

reader.Close();
So now if we observe,when any exception occurs, the application prints "Unrecognised File Format" and it doesn't write anything to the file.Also the output file is created first.
Now what i require is: Output File should be created only when there are no exceptions in the reading of the file."Some text" and "some values" are set when using the while loop..So how can i create a file when there are no exceptions in reading.
Plz Help Me!! Thanx in ADVANCE..

Why don't you first entirely read the file and [b]then[/b] create the StreamWriter object.
You can put the contents of the file to be read into an array first.

Hi all,
I want to match a string let say

from {begin} to {end} and put it in a variable so that I can replace the value of {=NavLink=} and {=LinkName=} coming from the database...
Can you please help me to find the exact regular expression syntax..

Are you trying to parse your own markup to make dynamic links? Just use the asp hyperlink if that is the case.
otherwise, read in the text line by line and do:
myString.Replace("{=NavLink=}", "What you want here");

a general statement:

hi all,
is there anyways by which i can use customized shortcut keys in C#.net2005... normally it comes as a combination of Ctrl, shift or alt keys.... but i want to use text keys as shortcut keys.. not the combination of textkeys with ctrl, alt or shift....

You can't do that as sortcut keys are always in the combination of ALT, CTL, Shift keys. Otherwise how do the system will understnad you want to type simple text of it was a sortcut key.

You could enable Form.KeyPreview, register to any of the keyboard events e.g. Form.KeyDown. Then inside the event handler check for your custom shortcut keys and do whatever you want if one of them occurs.

If you want to read the xml file then you can use dataset.readxml method to fetch the xml data to the dataset.
