If you use Automation the user will not see a thing...You could have the whole processes linked to a single buttion click or no button at all.

Just wonedering if anyone has any idea of how to change the background color of specific items in a Listbox?
I would have thought that there might be a property like ListBox1.Items[1].BackColor or something similar but alas that does not exist?

I don't believe you can, I've tried this before.
My solution was to use a ListView in Report format.....

I actually solved my problem. The Listbox has a property called DrawMode which you set to OwnerDrawFixed. The ListBox then has an event called DrawItem which exposes a lot of properties like BackColor, its Bounds etc which give you all the necessary things to force the drawing of the ListBox.

I get the 401 error. I am trying to stream out the result code so I can store it in a string variable.

C# Button Shortcut Problems

Hi,

I have two panels on a C# WinForm contains set of buttons with shortcut (eg. Alt+K) on each Panel.

Now when the user is on one panel, the shortcuts of other panel buttons are not functioning. Same way when we place a UserControl on one of the panel.

Also, when the user is in a textbox below the Button on the same panel, button short-cut is not working.

Is there any solution for this problem??

Hi all.

I've written a program that uses the joystick port to interface with a coin mechanism. I am using joySetCapture, etc via pinvoke. It all worked fine in testing, but in the real world, apparently sometimes the capture fails, and sometimes it breaks after time. What can I do, apart from install DX ?

Hi Christian!

joySetCapture is having problems under XP. The first capture works, trying to re-capture the joystick after a joyReleaseCapture always fails.
I've solved a similar problem by not using joySetCapture and joyReleaseCapture, but using joyGetPos() and doing the polling myself. For joyGetPos to work you don't have to capture the joystick, so it can be called as often as you want.

Hi,

I'm trying to call a method that resides in a .DLL that was built with the Watcom C/C++ 10.6 compiler. The method was exported and the compiler gave it the modifies my name with an underscore and stack length. IE: ProcAuthorizationWeb becomes _ProcAuthorizationWeb@4 because it accepts a 4 byte pointer.

I have the following code setup:

[DllImport("mcp.dll")]<br />
		public static extern bool _ProcAuthorizationWeb(ref CreditCardStruct CreditCardStruct);<br />
.....<br />
_ProcAuthorizationWeb(ref CreditCardStruct);<br />

But I get the following error: [EntryPointNotFoundException: Unable to find an entry point named _ProcAuthorizationWeb in DLL mcp.dll.]

The compiler is exporting it as _ProcAuthorizationWeb@4 so I thought I might create an export alias via: '_ProcAuthorizationWeb'='_ProcAuthorizationWeb@4' in the Linker/Binder, but that gave the same error. If I put the @4 at the end of the exported name, the .NET compiler gives me an error.

Any ideas on how to call the method within the .DLL? Is there a way to see the actual exported names in the .DLL?

Create a new class that inherits the datagridtextboxcolumn class. In this inherited class, you will have access to the textbox and can handle any events.

1. have count of my website visitors.
2. have the visitor IP.
3. count of the evry link clicked on my pages.
4. do a jump to another url in C# code area. ( not with html tag)

1. Keep a counter and increment it everytime the main page loads

2. Their IP address is available to you within your codebehind as well.

3. To do this, you need to use linkbuttons, so that you can capture the click as opposed to a browse to a page, and then keep another counter.

4. response.redirect, from memory.

Oh - response.redirect will not open a new window. I'm not sure how to do that in code, a link has target = "_blank" to do that, from memory.

Request.ServerVariables("REMOTE_ADDR") will give you the IP address.

The Oulook Object Model is nearly the same for Outlook 97 and newer versions. Some methods have been added, but none has been removed.

If you develop with Outlook 97 only, the result should run with newer versions, too.

But while I develop the program in C# VS.NET, I need to add the outlook reference to the project, do I need to add seperate COM reference for different version of Outlook ? Or I just add a single COM reference
(e.g. Microsoft Office 10.0 object library ), then the code can work for different version of outlook ?

And another question is that can I automate Outlook Express by the same automation methodology ?

g'day all,

i am just writing to seek help on a small problem i am stuck on. at the moment i am learning c# by developing a small application which mimicks the behaviour of a windows folder. The problem I am stuck on is that when I click on a column(either File Name, Dated Created or File Size) to perform a sort, I do not know how to make the background color change of the selected column.

So any code snippets would be most welcome or any hints Smile | :)
