Hey all...im trying to paste something as "enhanced metafile" but i dont know what parameters to set ...anyone know of what they are or where i can find documentation??

FIXED IT:

distinct tree node identifiers

trying to create child nodes from db, i have 5 entries in the db listed in order as show:
hello1
hello2
hello5
user1
user2

when i create the child node it only shows "hello1", i can get it to change from "hello1" to "hello2" if i change my query, but they still are all the same listing.
here it the code:

	treeView1.Nodes.Clear();
dataConnection.Open();
TreeNode dbnode = new TreeNode("Cashier User Names");
TreeNode dbnode1 = new TreeNode();

there isn't much written info on them that i can find

You're modifying the same node instance over and over again, no wonder you only see 1 node...
You'll have to call new TreeNode() for every return from your dataReader.

had the new treenode in the wrong spot....
now it works like this:

TreeNode dbnode1 = new TreeNode();
dbnode1.Tag = dataReader.GetValue(0).ToString();
dbnode1.Text = dataReader.GetString(0);
dbnode.Nodes.Add(dbnode1);
treeView1.ExpandAll();

Hi all, give me a bit of advise:
How to send such a kind of struct:

public struct SomeStruct<br />
{<br />
public string strData1;<br />
public long lngData2;<br />
public long lngData3;<br />
}

using .NET Remoting (HTTP prtocol being used)...
or gime, plz, some references where i can find it!

Hi!
You just have to mark your struct [Serializable] and then you can use it as parameter type for a remote method.

Yes, its correct, but when i'm trying to declare my struct as [Serializable] i got the following error:
System.Runtime.Serialization.SerializationException: Parse Error, no assembly associated with Xml key Confused | :confused:

Without the real struct it'll be hard to help you any further.

Hi,
I created a DataSet for my webservice application which i can easily use to display data in Web. the data contains list of users and their personal details.
eg.
DataView myview = data.Tables[<tablename>].DefaultView;

it displays all available data in the table.

the question is: is it possible not to display certain data belonging to certain parameter (e.g. emails of certain user)?
e.g. for user 'x & y', his 'email add' should not be displayed.

The datatable has a select method, which will allow you to run SQL on the data in the table and get the result out. The dataRow has a RowFilter property, which you can use to do the same thing.

I think you could also specify in your query to the database what fields you choose to get and what not to get. Sorts of filters the data before you post it in your app

Yeah, obviously. But I'm assuming he's wanting to dynamically change the filter without going back to the database.

what i exactly want to do is this:
i have user records with users personal details. currently when i do defaultview it shows all data of every user.

users can specify if they would like to publish their email address or not. if yes then the user's all details are shown including the email address. if no then all other details are shown except for the email address. please not that i am displaying list of all users not of a selected users. that means that when i display the list of users some should contain email address otheres left empty (or specified as 'blocked').

A pull model means that the object recieving the message asks for it when it wants it, and a push model means that the object sending a message is responsible for sending it without waiting for a request.

I have a component that generates an xml document. I need to post the xml to another web site from the component via http. I know the msxml component can do this, but I was hoping to find something native to .net that could handle this. Does anyone know where to look for this? Or will I have to use interop to use the msxml dll? Also, if I have to go that route, can anyone recommend a good tutorial on that? I haven't done anything with interop before so I'm a little unclear on how to figure out what the entrypoint is and so forth. Thanks.

couldn't you just do this:

pictureBox1.Image = Image.FromFile(@"c:\image.jpg");
pictureBox2.Image = pictureBox1.Image;

yep, I just tried it and had success.
(I used this code on the click of a button with two picture boxes set to default value names)

if (openFileDialog1.ShowDialog() == DialogResult.OK)
{
pictureBox1.Image = Image.FromFile(openFileDialog1.FileName);
pictureBox2.Image = pictureBox1.Image;
}

but his pictureBox1 and pictureBox2 are in two different forms...

You can expose that picture (IIRC Image property of PictureBox) as public property of both forms. Than you can set image from one form to other.

Hi,

I want to calculate the negation for the given decimal number.
How can i achieve that in C#.

The following calculation is required in C#.

I am done in converting the IP to binary.
But, how can i calculate the negation for the given Mask? Which need to be used in XOR.

Bin of 172.16.0.0 10101100.00010000.00000000.00000000
~Mask ~255.255.240.0 00000000.00000000.00001111.11111111
-----------------------------------------------------------
^ (XOR) 10101100.00010000.00001111.11111111

Result:dec 172.16.15.255
