I think you're looking for Mono. It's the .NET framework for Linux.

Like Christian said, look at Mono. If I recall, it doesn't support WinForms in full. But, still worth looking at.

I`ve read the MONO introduction recently. I will install this and code it here. How about my C# codes or i will start from a scratch.. 
to know everything is to know yourself...

In linux c# is called as GTK#
you can get alot of sample code and tutorials of c# in linux(GTK# ) from google.

That is hardly an accurate description. GTK# is not a language but a GUI toolkit that can be used by Mono.

umm, mono is the framework like vs.net in windows for linux and gtk# is a C# binding of GTK+graphical library.

Hi, i'm currently working with drag and drop between windows explorer and a form using the .net drag and drop.
I have a file and a directory with the same name and i want to drop one of them from explorer to my form.
Is there a way of telling whether the item i'm dropping into the form is a file or a directory?

Doesn't it deliver a path ? File.Exists will tell you.

yep, it delivers the path, but the problem arises when there's both a file and a directory with exactly the same name. If I use File.Exists and I'm actually dropping the directory then I would get the wrong item.

You will need to load the file in as a FileInfo and then look at the attributes to see if it's a directory or not...

You CANNOT have a file and a folder with the same name in the same location.
However, as already suggested, you can use the attributes to find out if the entity in question is a directory.

This is true, I never knew that, I just tried it. But surely your file would have an extension which makes its filename different to the folder's filename anyway.

You can have a file without an extension.
You can equally well have a folder with an 'extension'.

True that. What I meant though was that your file will more than likely(almost definately) have an extension and your folder will not. Why would anyone create a file without an extension or a folder with one for that matter.

I have small project have to print some label to specific printer- Zebra brand. it look like all attribute for my printing setup under VisualStudio05 doesn't work on this printer. ie. landscape, margin setup doesn't work.
Is there anyways I can fix this problem???

you have no access to the printer because of the kernel and the user mode. to open an access, you need two steps:
1. setup a file DirectIO.exe - you can download it from Download.com
2. use the dll file inpout32.dll that way;

What format is the commitment date in? You should be able to use a query (in MS Access a Select query and in the criteria section of the field put commitmentsTable.commitment = Date(). However, if you have a timestamp behind your date you may have to first format the commitment date.

Like Leckey said, it should be posted on the SQL forum but
SELECT * FROM commitmentsTable WHERE [Date] = Date()
should work even if there is a timestamp value. I assume that you only want to check the date is equal to the current date and are not concerned about time.

I am currently trying to design a project that will dynamically load different inherited user controls.
I have a base class named "PageBase" which extends UserControl. All of the inherited user controls will extend from PageBase.
Here is what I am trying to do but cannot think of a way to do it. "Joe" comes along and wants to add some page into the system. He creates a new project that is an inherited control from PageBase. When this new project is created I would like Visual Studio to inform him that he has to implement the function "string foo()".
I am trying to make the extension as easy as possible and I do not want someone to have a new class that looks like Class1 : PageBase, SomeInterface
Using the designer is also a big portion of this project so I cannot take the route of an abstract UserControl class. What is an easy way to have VS inform the coder that certain methods must be implemented when someone creates the inherited user control? Thanks for the help. Please let me know if anything needs to be explained more.
