Hi All,
As my subject says all that I have been struggling with the same exception as "A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond".
The scenario is I am using socket programming to send some data to the client machine from my server using a web service. I have tested around 50 odd cases in which the same exception is raised in around 10 cases and rest is delivered successfully.
Can anybody help me out with this exception? Exception details are pasted below -
System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond
at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.Connect(EndPoint remoteEP)
at System.Net.Sockets.TcpClient.Connect(IPEndPoint remoteEP)
Thanks in Advance....

Possibly a firewall or antivirus blocking the required port on the clients or the router blocking that port if they are behind one?

Because you built the installer that way. What are you using to make an MSI ?

OK, I presume it's assuming that you are the author and want a group created. If there are no options presented, you'll need to use a different tool, like Advanced Installer.

HI All,
I have written a FOREACH loop to get results .Here it is.
foreach(NFConsolG lobjcongds in lobjCons.GList)
{
if(lobjcongds.Status==1)
{
try
{
lobjcongds.ConName=lobjCon1.TradingName;
units=this.GetPublish1(sc,lobjcongds);
if(units!=null && units.Length>0 && units[0]!=null && units[0].GetType().Equals(typeof(Unit)))
{
UnitArrayList.AddRange(units);
}
}
catch{}
}
}
I need to call this.GetPublish1() method using Threads.But it is inside a loop. Is there a way to use Threads for this FOREACH loop?
Please advice me.

You can start a thread for each object, if you want to access the threads later from the main thread, just store them in a list.

A couple of observations:
1. If you return a value from a method you call in a different thread, your calling method might be long gone by the time your called method completes execution. You will have to rethink your design.
2. If there are many items in your collection, you might end up spawning a huge number of threads. This is not a very good idea.

Vikram.

Hi friends,
When I was trying to execute one game project, following exception occured at runtime.
NoSuitableGraphicsDeviceException: Direct3D hardware acceleration is not available or has been disabled. Verify that a Direct3D-enabled graphics device is installed, and check the display properties to verify that Hardware acceleration is set to Full.
Please let me know to how to solve this exception. I already installed DirectX.
Thanks and Regards,
Lalitha.

Sounds like you don't have a card installed that uses DirectX and has an up to date driver and hardware acceleration turned on.

At the computer store ? Odds are very high you have one already, and just need to install the proper driver.

I have a problem in converting ASCII extended characters in my C# program. I have already tried the following statement." System.Text.Encoding.Default.GetString(buff). buff is a byte array"
this statement does not show me the correct ASCII extended char.
Any body cam help out?

The default encoding is Unicode. Have you tried specifying ASCII directly ?

yes I have specified directly to ASCII. Actually Windows does not show the appropriate extended character against the byte code. like 155=Ø in ASCII extended table. But my program shows the character against 155=>. I cannot understand why it is happening?
