The dialog app must have a reference to the web service, to be able to call it. Right click on it and choose 'update' once you've updated the live service. Or just delete the reference and create a new one

Yes I add a reference to the dialog based project.
System.web.service
But I can't call any function from the other project(.Net service)?

.NET Service or WebService?
only two letters away from being an asset

No it's .Net service, a Windows Service. I work on Visual Studio .Net 2003

Oh - a Windows service.
I don't see how that makes any difference. To call one project from another, you need a reference and if you change the project you're calling, if you update your reference to it, you'll see the new methods.

I think I'm mess with this. Make reference between two projects. Is that correct I have done as including,
System.web.service
as the reference to the dialog based project.

How, just by including the generic service class, does your dialog project know how to call your windows service now ?

Actually what I have done is add a new reference to the dialog based project(Windows Application) as I mentioned above.
To call the service(simply start, stop the service) I used a serviceController component in dialog form. So I can used
serviceController.start();
serviceController.Stop();
etc....
What I want to do is, send few parameter to the service either on Start() or anywhere else.

Oh... you're not adding a method, you want to specify parameters.

When you open the brackets on your start call, intellisense will show you that there are two possible methods to call. One of them takes a string array, of arguments to pass to the service.

Thanks pal,
Actually I'm stuck with passing parameters in two projects. Not in a same project(between classes.)

I thank Ennis Ray Lynch, Jr for his reply to my previous post but even in the declaration for "aspectRatio" it still says that the keyword aspectRatio "does not exist in the current context"

I have had the same problem with many of the tutorials. It seems most of the authors take pride in concealing where they hide their declarations. Look and you should find it buried in a single-line declaration on some unrelated tutorial most likely.

Hello,
I am not sure how to tackel this, what I have is a data grid view with two columns 1. an unbound check box column and 2. a bound data column. What I want to do is for each check box that is check i want to get the value of the bound column in that same row. what i was thinking is some thing like this:
foreach (DataGridViewRow row in datagridview)
{
if(datagridview.Columns[0] (here is where i am not sure how to see if the check box is checked)
{
}
}
any help would be great...
Thanks, J

Hi!
Does anyone knows how can I show a messagebox, after a user tries to change a radiobutton, and cancel that action if needed? I already tried to do it inside several events, but without success.
I would like to do something like this:
<br />
private void radioButton_TMP_Validating(object sender, CancelEventArgs e)<br />
{<br />
if (MessageBox.Show("Are you sure?", "Attention", MessageBoxButtons.YesNo, MessageBoxIcon.Question) == DialogResult.No)<br />
{<br />
e.Cancel;<br />
}<br />
}<br />
I appreciate if someone could help me with this. I didn't find any solution when "gOOgling"
Thanks!!!

try this :
if (MessageBox.Show("Are you sure?", "Attention", MessageBoxButtons.YesNo, MessageBoxIcon.Question) == DialogResult.No)
radioButton.Checked = false;
else
radioButton.Checked = true;
and do not put this code in Validating event, Click event will be good for it
hope this will help

Thanks for the post Xmen!
Although, I don't think that this is the right way to do this. First because using the click event, the radiobutton on that time is already changed and, like this, I will need to rollback that action, unchecking that radiobutton and checking the previous one.
What I really want is to have the chance to cancel and prevent the radionbutton to be checked.
This must be done before the radiobutton is checked.
And by the way, using the click event is not enough because the radiobuttons can be check using the keyboard. There must be a simple and efficient way to do this.
Any ideas?

hmm... i think only CheckedChanged event can help but it may cause of iteration, but you can use some logic of bool or you should make a custom event.

you could use the CheckedChanged event which is called when the checked property is changed, so that should work for the key board as well as the mouse. hope that helps
