Totally agree Josh, but as the OP seemed confused already I thought starting simple was the best way to go.

Had the poster come back and said "It does not work because textbox12 is inside a panel", then I would have delved into the obvious recursive method!

My concern was that the OP's confusion might indicate that he/she wouldn't necessarily make the connection between the fact that the TextBox was in a GroupBox and the fact that the provided method did not work as provided. Rose | [Rose]

Oh...it was my first thouhgt. I reallized that all Boxes around were detected only. So I tested it without a groupBox and voila it works.

Store that data in a class and pass an instance (i.e. the same instance) of that class to each form. You may want to consider using a singleton pattern[^].

Your statement can only be FALSE or EXCEPTION, because you cannot call methods on null. If listBox1.SelectedItem is null, the statement is equal to if (null.Equals(null)).

Try this:
if (listBox1.SelectedItem == null)

...is going to crash when listBox1.SelectedItem is null.
Better version:

if (listBox1.SelectedItem == null)<br />

I am converting the content of Gridview to Excel. Its working. But i dont know how to format the excel sheet for design(Font Color, Leaving empty row after heading, adjusting the width of the column equal to the content of the gridview) and etc. Help Me Please.

Need help for uploading the file to folder, saving the file in such a manner in folder so user multiple user can save and retrieve the file with same name. Address of files needed to be saved in database.

hi all in my program i can create a new registry subkey under CLASS_ROOT, CURRENT_USER, USER & CURRENT_CONFIG But the programm can't Create a subkey under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE(But its possible under any sub node of LOCAL_MACHINE)
when i try for it the compiler shows the following message(An unhandled exception of type 'System.IO.IOException' occurred in mscorlib.dll

Additional information: The parameter is incorrect.

I think that is impossible to create a key under HKLM. That is not allowed.

Use Ctrl+Left/Right to switch messages, Ctrl+Up/Down to switch threads, Ctrl+Shift+Left/Right to switch pages.
