Yes it is possible to do it this way, but what i intend to do is, change those settings also at runtime not only at startup (restore to defaults)...

Once you've stored the values in a config file, you can read them (and update them) any time you want. Am I missing something?

Yes, it can be done (with a bit of reflection and a class to manage the work).
That doesnt necessarily make it a good idea! Store your settings wherever you want (DB, file, Xml or wherever) and have a process that reads those settings and sets the screen.

try exploring Hashtable or Dictionary generic?

I have some code which looks like that:
[DefaultValue(CornerStyle.Rounded)]
public CornerStyle RectCornerMode
{
get { return this["RectCornerMode"].GetValue<CornerStyle>(); }
set { this["RectCornerMode"].SetValue<CornerStyle>(value); }
}
in this[string] I get the attribute decorating the calling method, and used it to compute a default value.
now it seems that sometimes (when build in release mode) the property is by passed and the calling method call this[string] and GetValue directly, thus ignoring the decorating attribute....
is there a way to avoid this inlining?
any suggestion?

found it: MethodImplAttribute.
Anyway I thought of a better solution...

Basically, if you render a link, that link should contain stuff on the URL that actives the account. Is the problem with writing that code, or is the problem getting the link to work ?

Do you mean you are not able to generate the link or not able to update when user clcks on that link ?

Hi
I am working on Biomatric Solution Project.I am using SecuGen BSP Device for This purpose.Device return Fingure image data in string .I want to display this Fingure image into Picture Box Control. For This I kept The output string in Byte array and then i write it in Memory Stream and at last
create a bitmap to display image(at this stage i got error "Parameter is Not Valid")
Problem:-Code Give error when i create a bitmap to display image.
red line show the error point.The error syntax is "Parameter is Not Valid".
My Code is:-
try
{
//Create Device API Interface object
SECUBSPCOMLib.APIInterface objSecuBSP = new SECUBSPCOMLib.APIInterface();
long deviceID;
objSecuBSP.EnumerateDevice();
//Open Device
objSecuBSP.OpenDevice(2);
string szFIRTextData;
objSecuBSP.Enroll(null);
//Get Data of Image(Fingure Print) into a string
szFIRTextData = objSecuBSP.FIRTextData;
//Get string into Stream Format means into Byte array from string
byte[] arrBytes = new byte[szFIRTextData.Length];
int i = 0;
foreach (char c in szFIRTextData.ToCharArray())
{
arrBytes[i] = (byte)c;
i++;
}
// Open a stream for the image and write the bytes into it
System.IO.MemoryStream memStream = new System.IO.MemoryStream(arrBytes, true);
memStream.Write(arrBytes, 0, arrBytes.Length);
// Create a bitmap from the stream for Display it on Picture Box Control
System.Drawing.Bitmap bmp = new System.Drawing.Bitmap(memStream);
pictureBox1.Image = bmp;
memStream.Close();
}
catch (Exception ex)
{
MessageBox.Show(ex.Message);
}

Are you sure this stream contains a bitmap ? I'd have thought passing it as a string would cause it to null terminate in the wrong spot.

Wahoo!
I just did my first little Application that is of any use. Its a calculator that my friend uses for work, with some weird Calculations in it. But it works.
Anyway, I suppose I have 2 questions.
1. Is there a way to make just 1 Setup.exe file that can be sent without any other files that will install fine at the other end.
2. If not, Which files from the publish directory do I have to send to get the Application to work at the other end?
Many Thanks all
Tony

1 - not in C#, you also need the .NET framework
2 - yuo probably just need the exe and the manifest. Plus the framework.

Tony, just send an .exe file if it is not having any dependancy dll file.

You can embed the framework in the single setup file. So the framework also will be installed when the application is installing.

|

So I can just send the setup.exe? when I try copying it to a different folder and running it, I get an error.
<br />
The following error occurred attempting to install 'C:\Documents and Settings\Tony\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Projects\CostingCalculator\CostingCalculator\publish\Release1\test\CostingCalculator.application':<br />
"The system cannot find the file specified. "<br />
<br />
See the setup log file located at 'C:\DOCUME~1\Tony\LOCALS~1\Temp\VSD1BA.tmp\install.log' for more information.<br />
How would I embed the framework?
Cheers all

Hi friends,
how can i hide a column from a datagrid.suppose i use a store procedure having eight columns.
i want to hide the primary key column.how can i do that.
remember it is a windows application not web.
thanks

if u only want to display data.
then u should try using listview control
by using that u can easily hide/show the required columns.

Hi
Use below code :
<br />
dataGridView1.Columns[0].Visible=false;<br />
I can help you in other fields about DataGridView "freshonline2003@yahoo.com"

i am saying about datagrid..not datagridview.
|
|
|
|
|
define a dataset, a datatable, map all the columns of the datatable
while mapping, use mapping type as hidden for the column which you want to hide.

In the stored procedure avoid selecting the column that you don't want to display
