hi how to get list of all tables that exist in my sql server instance ?
i'm using this scrpit :
select * from sys.tables
but this command return only tables that exist in Current Database.

or this

this is statements is very useful for me :
select * from information_schema.columns
but this scrpit only get information from current database while i want for all databases in server.

Then iterate over each of the databases performing the same query.

To identify all user defined tables on a particular instance, you would use select name from master.sys.databases where owner_sid != 0x01

And? How am I supposed to know what databases you have? I did state that this was per database instance so, if you think you are missing some, you need to check to see that you are hitting the right instance. For instance, you may find that one instance is running as (local) and the other as (local)\SQLExpress.

IF you are using SQL Server 2005 (it doesn't work on any other)

exec sp_MSForEachDB<br />

Hello guys,
I am struggling for 3 days now with the problem of reading and writing form/to an usb port. For this I tried to use LibUsbDotNet. The library has a very nice and at first I though useful documentation. My problem is that I cannot reference the UsbDevice object that I want to use.
I tried to iterate through the UsbDeviceList but have no success because the List is empty (I cannot understand why) . I tried with different sticks and card reader device and the result is the same the DeviceList is empty obviosly I doing something wrong but I cannot figure what .

Try this: http://www.icsharpcode.net/OpenSource/SharpUSBLib/default.aspx[^] but it will need this installed: http://libusb-win32.sourceforge.net/[^]

I've tried it in 2 previous projects and it works like a charm.

I haven't tried LibUsbDotNet so I can't help you with that one, sorry.

First I did not wnat to use that library but seems that I have no other sollution.

The problem with that library is that I didn't find a decent documentation and that it isn't maintained anymore.
Also you need to install the LibUSBwin 32 first ...

Sadly, no. The projects were accomplished by looking at the samples that came with the download, that gave me an idea of what to do. Their object model isn't convoluted at all from what I remember.

I've never seen attributes on a root node, but why would it differ to any other node ?

Hello everyone,

I recently started developing a little set of custom controls for a customer of mine.
I first began developing one control, then adding the second according to subsequent requests.. and so on. All these controls I deliver in a single, well-packaged DLL file.
All of these controls inherits the standard Control Class. But now, since there are many properties shared amongst those controls, I thought that it would have been tidier and clearer to write a class inheriting Control (let us call it MyPowerfulControl), containing all the properties that are used in all of the other custom controls, and then make my other controls inherit from MyPowerfulControl.

Nothing seemed to go wrong so far. But now there's a little issue that's bugging me: when I add my custom controls to the toolbox sidebar in Visual Studio, also MyPowerfulControl is shown (and, I kinda not want this).
I know that it's possible, when choosing which controls are to be loaded, to un-check the unwanted control. But this is an annoying task for me and my customers... Isn't there a way to tell MyPowerfulControl never to show up, even in the "Choose Control" dialog?

Well, I found a way out - I don't know if it's good programming practice, but it works.
I simply declared MyPowerfulControl as an abstract class, and it automagically disappeared from my toolbox.

Should this be a Coding Horror, please let me know Wink | ;)

I am trying to create an application that will talk with a webservice.
This webservice needs the following information:

<request>
  <EmailAddress>string</EmailAddress>
  <Filename>string</Filename>
  <FileData>base64Binary</FileData>
</request>

So I wrote the following:

string FileDataBase64Binary;
SoapBase64Binary base64Binary;
FileDataBase64Binary = "???";
base64Binary = SoapBase64Binary.Parse(FileDataBase64Binary);
request.FileData = base64Binary;

What should be the right code?
Any help would be greatly appriciated.
