I have a modal dialog with an OK button with BS_DEFPUSHBUTTON style but when the focus is on a particular textbox, I want to change the DefPushButton to another one, so when the user press ENTER the action is related to that field.
I tried to redefine it using SetButtonStyle(), but it doesn't work. The button visually seems to receive the Default focus, but whem I press ENTER the old default one is clicked. If I take the DEF style from the old one, then no action happens when I press ENTER. Then, a strange thing happens with the focus when I tab into the button. When I move the focus to the button with the tab key, it seems like it receives the focus (dotted rectangle inside) but is not in selected state. Is it possible ? Can I change the default button dynamically or windows prevent it ? How can I accomplish such a thing ?

Have you looked at the DM_SETDEFID message?

Hello,

I had done a program that was running ok, but my customer asked me to make some modifications to it. Cry | :((

I had formatted my laptop in order to migrate from W2k to WXP Pro, and now I have tried to install the files that I believe that I need and nothing happens, I'm still receiving the same warnings and linker errors each time.

If I compile the same program in my workstation everything goes fine... This is what makes me feel that I have not installed everything...

could you please tell me where and what do I need to install?

Internet Explorer 5.0 or more. If u an IE, msxml.dll would have been already installed. Check it in the registry. In XP, the latest version of msxml would be installed, and the Proc ID used to create XML DOM object would different from that of W2k. better check it out.

Not a C++ question (for future reference, try the OS/Admin forum)

Go into "Services", and disable the "Messenger Service" - note that this has nothing to do with the Windows/MSN Instant Messenger programs, just the pop-up message boxes.

Hi!

I am adding various items in CListCtrl. Whenever there are too many items, the vertical scroll bar automatically appears. But as such i need to manually scroll it down to see new enteries.

I want that whenever new item is added, the vertical scroll bar should automatically scrol down to the latest position.

How can i do so.

I want to know how to read/wite all physical memorys? I want to check whether the all memory of my current can be read or write and virify its reliability. Can you help me? I heard that It can be do in driver, but i don't know how to do it? I need your help, thanks.

How about IsBadReadPtr(), IsBadWritePtr() and related functions? You might also want to look at Toolhelp32ReadProcessMemory(0, ...).

i suppose he meant reading physical memory, and what ur talking about is virtual memory.

yes, you have to use a driver for that, so you can map any physical memory to a linear memory address accessable by your software.

a little additional tip: DON'T WRITE TO PHISICAL MEMORY... IT COULD DAMAGE YOUR SYSTEM!

Don't try it, just do it! Wink | ;-)

I think maybe I can read/write physical memory in driver, But i don't how to do it? I don't know how to map any physical memory to a linear memory address accessable by your software. And I want to know Whether I must do that in driver? If I want to write physical memory, I can save all the original values of memory, I can resume that after writing. You cannot use new and delete in this way.

the instruction temp="testing123"; will change the adress contained in the pointer. So when you try to delete it, it will assert because the pointer to the "testing123" string wasn't dynamically allocated.

You'll have to change to this:

while(true)<br />
{<br />
strcpy(temp,"testing123");<br />
<br />
delete temp;<br />
}<br />

This will copy the data in the temp pointer (WITHOUT changing it's adress).
