I'm using Crystal Reports 8.5 with VS2003, without any problem (well apart from the usual Crystal problems)

I dropped the Crystal Report viewer activex control onto a formview resource.

I then #import "craxdrt.tlb" to get the IApplication and IReport interfaces, which I use to load the report and then pass the loaded report into the active x.

Displaying multiple image overlays in MFC tree or list control

Hello - I have been working on a way to display more than one overlay for a given image - as the image states are not mutually exclusive for the control. Currently the MFC implementation only supports displaying a single overlay image at any given time. Does anyone know of a method to acheive this? I really do not want to reinvent the wheel here if it can be avoided. I have looked through various forums for a similar question and was unsuccessful in locating a solution. I find it hard to believe that no one has encountered this issue before.

Simply use CStatic::SetFont (actually CWnd::SetFont). You will have to provide to the function a CFont object you previously have created, or retrieved from GDI stock objects (by using ::GetStockObject for instance)

Each control you need to set the font for needs an unique ID so you can get the handlt to it.

Make sure they are not IDC_STATIC which is -1

This control Extended Use of CStatic Class [^] is a good solution to your problem too.

Hi,

Have a ListControl with 2 columns as follows:

1stColumn | 2ndcolumn
*************|***********
CodePage |2
*************|***********
FormFeed |x
*************|***********
LineFeed |y
*************|***********

The 1st Column members for me are Labels that won't change.
The 2nd column,Iam creating different controls depending on the 1st column label.
I have a click event for the listcontrol,in which when a user clicks on a cell on the 2nd column,depending on the 1st column label i have to create different controls.

I know how to create controls,My question here is when the user clicks on the cell,would like to the coordinates,like the column & row in which the cell, he clicked lies.......

Use CListCtrl::HitTest. LVHITTESTINFO parameter will show you what item and subitem is at the point where the mouse clicked.

I had done a Project "School management System" and I am facing a similar problem in my interviews. this project the question is
When the Project SMS can be done in VB, Why you had choosen VC++ for developing it? I couldn't able to answer convincingly,

Please help me regarding this question.

Well, the obvious answer is that you made use of the skillset available. That your VC++ skills were stronger than your VB skills and therefore were able to implement a solution in VC++ in a quicker timeframe than if you had to write it in VB. You were also able to reuse your existing C++ code libraries to implement the application. Thus saving on time, cost of development and using existing tested code.

At least, that's what I'd say.

You start with a question: "Are you serious?". When it is evident that the interviewer is, you laugh scornfully and leave the room.

Seriously, that something can be built in VB, or with batch-files, or by using paper-clips, doesn't imply that it is a good idea. So, you just might want to say: "When MS starts to deliver end-user apps built in VB, so will I".

Note that when asking questions about job interviews, résumés,... you will always get into endless discussions.

The truth is that you'll never know for sure which answer is expected. (short but good or does he want the gory details,...) Every person expects something else.

Know as much as possible and try to answer what you think the interviewer would like to hear. (and hope you guessed right)

How to give application to proccess all things

My application is running very long loop and I would like to give the application time to redraw it-self and proccess all the messages and so on... I don't wanna use threads... For instance in that loop I am setting some text in CEdit and the application doesn't show it until the loop is finished... I really want something as simple as possible... Thanks for help to everybody....I really appreciate it.

Try putting in Message pumping looping into the code, maybe after completing a iteration in a loop. Adjust the below code for handling any accelerator or dialog boxes used.
