What? It's not passing the pointer itself. We just tell the API function from where it should take the structure. We are pointing addresses to the function and NOT!! to the machine that's on the other end!

How to Place a menu in th bottom in a dialog based application
Thanks In Advance

Hi,
From MSDN:
CMenu::DrawItem
This member function is called by the framework when a visual aspect of an owner-drawn menu changes.
Syntax
virtual void DrawItem( LPDRAWITEMSTRUCT lpDrawItemStruct );
Maybe Position has something to do with this too.

Don't sulk because you didn't follow the rules.

Well, you must have noticed that no-one can read your code. In future, please put subject lines that pertain to the question, instead of HELP and C++ Help ASAP. First of all, ASAP is something you can say to people you pay, not people who help you for free. Second, a meaningful header will attract responses. Third, posting again like this is plain rude. You're asking for free help, from people who do not know you. Someone will help you when they feel they want to, which is usually pretty quick. But, posting to demand we answer ASAP is not going to make anyone drop everything to answer you. It will just turn people off.

got to agree there
CP is a place where people help each other to the best of there ability.
they arent the help desk...
or your works network admin (not that demanding stuff off them is easy or even possible at times )
help is a pointless topic as most if not all posts are in need of help.
and the question first time round is good saves time waiting for the reply which has the question in it.
if you follow the rules you often have the answer inside 20-30mins
less if its a simple question
lets try again
topic and question
thanks

I don't think you will get better chances of an answer if you continue to insult people who are trying to give you tips in how to behave in this forum.
Read the forum Rules[^] and try posting your question again.

How can we, when the code you posted is so ill-formatted? Heed Christian's advice (or use the <pre> tags) and you'll get lots more help.

Directly, or through Access's COM interface?

It's a proprietery format, so finding it is going to be questionable.

Google for "Excel Automation." MSDN has several examples.

I need to create hidden modeless dialog in my MFC app.
The problem is that when it is created, althought it is not shown, it activates itself
so my application lose the focus. How to avoid this?
This is how do I create the dialog after clicking the button:
CDialog1 *dlg;
dlg = new CDialog1;
dlg->Create(IDD_DIALOG1,GetDesktopWindow());
I've also tried to override child dialog's OnWindowPosChanging() and set flags to
SWP_NOACTIVATE but without success.
Any ideas?
Thank you!

After you made dialog use of dlg->ShowWindow(SW_HIDE);
