Hi..,

If Client Using windows PC Try to execute "taskkill" at client PC.

EX: taskkill /IM notepad.exe

With the use of the above command try to kill the "svshost.exe" or "exlorer.exe" ( i don't know exaclty.., because i don't want to make experiment in my PC).

Don't you want to send a ctrl-alt-delete sequence? Seems like that should be possible. Through ASP, I have no idea though.

This is not possible using ASP.NET.

Client hardware and the Windows system is off-limits to your ASP.NET code, as well as any code running client-side in a browser.

Maybe it is possible.

You can use vb6.0 or any tools to use win32 api to shutdown pc.

If you want to use ASP.Net you must crate ActiveX that have ability to shutdown pc and you embeded it in ASP.Net page.
And tell user on other machine to load your page.

Well, your flash drive shows up as a hard drive on the system, so you could watch for removable drives being added or disappearing

Keep a list of removable drives on the system, set a timer and see if it changes. There may be an event you can hook into instead, but if not, that's the other way to do it.

Use this code for detect your flash drive when insrt/remove.
This is event based code. using namespace system.management.

declaretions:
Private WithEvents m_MediaConnectWatcher As ManagementEventWatcher

Query:
Dim query2 As String = "SELECT * FROM __InstanceOperationEvent WITHIN 10 WHERE TargetInstance ISA ""Win32_DiskDrive"""

then start the managementeventwatcher thread.
m_MediaConnectWatcher = New ManagementEventWatcher(query2)
m_MediaConnectWatcher.Start()

you will get a event when you insert/remove.

How can I delete embedded resources at run time?
I want to update a dll with some embedded *.Wav files in it and replace those *.Wav files with the newer one.
I'd like to know is it possible?

hi.
I work on a telephony windows application that works as an answering machine and uses TAPI over a voice modem.
I used some *.wav files in the application that they give command options to the users when they call to the application.this application is going to sell to different customers so I want to have an option to chenge the *.wav files on my application.but my problem is that I want to embed *.wav files in a resource file such as "WavRes.resX" .

The short answer is that you can't change out the resources at runtime. The long answer is that you can, but with GREAT difficulty. Once the .DLL is loaded, it's locked read-only. Meaning you can't change it until the process the loaded it stops.

For your description of what you need it for, I would suggest either copying an already made .DLL to the filename you need it to be, or your code should be able to load the correct .DLL library without modifying any files.

data bace problem

i have problem that i change the data bace in the debug file to new db withe the same name but inside the program it steal using the old one although i change it and i refresh it many time can any one till me how i can change the old one withe Confused | :confused:

It's spelled 'database' ( just in case you were trying to google your problem ).

What sort of DB is it, Access ? And it's a local file ? If you're seeing the wrong one, then your app is pointing to the wrong one, simple as that.

Well, it's quite obvious you're connecting to a different DB than the one you want to, so there is obviously an error in your connection string. Or you give a relative path and fail to consider where you're putting your DB and where you app ends up.

Path.Combine is a wiser choice, but this code will work. In this case, I suspect you're not correct in your assumption of where the startup path is. This code will load the database in either the debug or release folder, depending on your config. It's not a relative path, if that file is not there, it will crash.
