You can use COM component Shockwave Flash (Flash.ocx).Before you do this example you have to install flash.

This is an example.

Flash MX
Create a button.
Select “Window” menu. Select “Development Panel --> Actions”
In the code editor, type this

on (release) {<br />
fscommand ("Button1");<br />
}

Save the movie. (“Untitled-1.fla”)
Select “Control” menu and Select “Test Movie”
Flash will create (“Untitled-1.swf”)
Exit from Flash.

VB.Net
Right click on the tool box. Select “Add/Remove Items…”. Select “COM Components”
Select “Shockwave Flash Object”. Click OK
Draw it on the form
Name it “SF1”

Right click on “SF1” and select “Properties”
Type the path to “Untitled-1.swf” in the “Movie URL” textbox.
Click OK

Double Click on SF1 ( go to Code Editor )
Select “FS Command” from Procedure List Box
Type this

Private Sub SF1_FSCommand(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As AxShockwaveFlashObjects.DShockwaveFlashEvents_FSCommandEvent) Handles SF1.FSCommand<br />
If e.command = "Button1" Then<br />
MsgBox("it works")<br />
End If<br />
End Sub

Run the programme
Click on Button1

hi all
i am loading a xml file to the dataset, it is taking long time as the file is very big arround 20mb with 15,000 records in it. i need to display a progress bar for that loading peiod, can anyone please help me out.

Hi there,

I have a button for which i set the image property to some image and handling mouse down,up,over etc event and changing image to make some effects. the only problem is that when button is focused it displays a dotted rectangle around it(as a normal image do), is there any way so that it doesn't show that rectangle? as it makes my button image ugly

you should be use png format image which background transparent.

Are you adding the controls dynamically? If so, are you remembering to add them to the form's control collection?

hello people!!!

i've have this trouble,

i installed my winform on some clients

now i'd like to know how can i build an update tool...
the classic udpdate of an executable... when the winform is opening, it looks for the new version and ask to the user to download this last version....

what properties have i to set or what dll have i to download or use to this????

does already exists a microsoft dll or property of WF to do this???

Hi,

I am using Visual Studio 2003. I had developed a project in VB.Net using 1024 * 768 Resolution in XP Operating System. My client wants the application to be displayed properly in any resolution of his choice.

Even though i set the AUTOSCALE property of the form to TRUE. The Form is not resizing according to the resolution.

Can You please help me out.

well...

in my WF i have the same trouble but with a difference...

in clients with the screen properties
96dpi my WF runs OK if the client setting is 120dpi the winform gone wrong... for exemple the datagrid are compressed and resized with some scrollbars....

why????

Hi Guys,

Well u can use the Anchor property to resolve this issue. By default the Anchor property is "Left,Top" for all the controls. Set this to "Left,Top,Right,Bottom" depending up on the position of the control where it is placed.

I have been watching this question since it appeared. When I write a program on my computer then try to run it on another one, it is always to big to fit on the screen. I have to crank my resolution down to write programs for other computers. When you buy a program it always seems to automaticly fit the screen of whattever computer that you run it on. I think that anyone who can answer this question will be helping more than the three of us!

u need to create a connection object to access the database and a recordset object to access a table.
then with the help of that recordset u can access the values of fields.
ex:

private sub form_load()

dim cn as new adodb.connection
dim rs as new adodb.recordset
dim query as string

cn.ConnectionString = "Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;Persist Security Info=False;User ID=sa;Initial Catalog=mbdb;Data Source=abc"

cn.Open

query = "selet * from table1"

rs.open query , cn

if rs.eof = false then
txtbox1.text = rs.fields("field1")

rs.close
set rs = nothing

I am working on Windows Forms and using Windows Media Player control to play video file.

I want to define a transparent color for the video playing in windows forms through Windows Media Player or through any other media player activex.

and then where ever that color exists which i defined earlier in that video should be transparent n i would be able to see through that space.

Hope I elaborated my question correctly.

Can't be done in Media Player. All you'll see is a black background where the video is playing.

AFAIK, there isn't ANY video player that'll support transparency.

I am working on VB.NET Window forms

I want to capture the 2 event of child form
from the parent form.

1. BeforFormLoad (ie ..child form)
2. AfterFormLoad (ie ..child form)

i want to handle theres two events of child form
from the parent form,

Can any one of u with some idea , any reference links ....

Here is one method

In your parent form

Public WithEvents obj As New Form2

Private Sub onBeforeLoad() Handles obj.BefLoad
MessageBox.Show("before")
End Sub

Private Sub onAfterLoad() Handles obj.AftLoad
MessageBox.Show("After")
End Sub

In Your child form

public event BefLoad()
public event AftLoad()

Private Sub Form2_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load

RaiseEvent BefLoad()
' Do your form load codings
RaiseEvent AftLoad()
End Sub
