I second Mika with the search tool on this site. Use it and use it well since you can find alot of awesome gems around here

If VB6 it was simple, but this is what I have.
'My Bee Contacts' represents a contact folder in Outlook. But the code refuses to find it unless I use the .PickFolder command and actually select it. Which I don't want to do. I simply want to enter a name in a textbox, like 'My Bee Contacts' then the code runs through the contacts in that folder- then I can dump them in a file or use Messagebox to display them ... etc.
Dim OutlookApplication_definst As New Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.Application
Dim olApp As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.Application
Dim objName As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.NameSpace
Dim Folder As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.MAPIFolder
olApp = OutlookApplication_definst.Application
objName = olApp.GetNamespace("MAPI")
Folder = objName.GetDefaultFolder(Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.OlDefaultFolders.olFolderContacts).Folders("My Bee Contacts")
For Each Item In Folder.Items
If Len(Trim(Item.JobTitle)) = 0 Then Item.JobTitle = "(none)"
If Len(Trim(Item.ManagerName)) = 0 Then Item.ManagerName = "(none)"
MessageBox.Show(Item.JobTitle & "|" & Item.Email1Address & "|" & Item.FullName & "|" & Item.ManagerName)
Next Item
olApp = Nothing
Folder = Nothing
objName = Nothing

Check whether macros are enabled

Since you don't even know how to open tha vba-editor I have my doubts about that.

I second that since opening the vba editor is probably the most trivial part of it.

Six months from now 2069064 will be posting his CV as a VB developer having completely rewritten the macro supporting this sheet, created a XXXXX system based on excel and will be looking into Access. Poor bugger, this is how I started in Excel 1.0

Can any one help me regarding how the navigation button works in vb 6.0. i want next and previous button coding.
help me

You're going to have to explain what you're talking about. There's no "navigation button" control in VB6, nor any other version of VB. What are you "navigating" and how??

One would assume that given what Dave said, you want a wizard type interface. I would assume you need to code this yourself, showing different controls on a form as you go.
Why on earth does anyone still use VB6, apart from masochism ?

Surprised at what?? VB5 has been dead and unsupported for years. When Windows 7 comes out next year, the VB6 runtime will no longer work on it! VB.NET has been around since 2001, so why haven't these people made the move to what IS supported and what is clearly a superior environment?
