Is someone seriously going to read through 9000 pages of a print preview ? Either this is a limitation of the control, OR it's a problem with your code.

I think you may be the only person I've ever heard of that wants to preview 9,000 pages.
Seriously, I don't see why it would be a limitation in the control, but, it's entirely possible. Other than that, without any kind of error message or how you're handling printing, noone can tell you anything useful.

Maybe its a better idea to produce one big pdf file (or a lot of smaller ones ...)

Lots, but you need to give a better explanation of what is not working, what messages you are seeing etc.

Ah. you can get a handle to the program in question when you call Process.Start and you can make your program wait until the other program finishes, or you can check it to see if it's still running.

Hi,
Read about the System.Diagnostics.Process class on MSDN and pay special attention to the example associated with the Exited event. It summarises the basic code that you will need to implement to detect when a process terminates.

I want to combine parameters and fixed values in queries as this strQuery = "insert into books (zaglavie, avtor_id, book_id, book_udk, janr_id) values(?,autor,?,book,?)" where autor and book is global variable

It doesn't matter where the variables come from, you can still pass them into a paramaterised query. Or do string mashing if you don't care about security.

Hi,
I have a datagridview1 column "Name", which has collections of names and some are repetitive; e.g.
"Name"
-------
ram
shyam
ram
ram
raj
shuk
shuk
So, in the above "Name" column, there are repeatation of names. I want to do this:
1) read the repetitive name as a single, e.g. "ram", "shuk"
2) store them in a array of string;
3) finally the array should be like this : arr(1) = "ram", arr(2) = "shyam", arr(3)="raj",arr(4)="shuk" .
So in arrays I have finally stored the repetitive names as once.
Now I want to copy these array entries into rows of another datagridview2 whose column name is "Final Name".
Can someone help me by providing a piece of code?
Thanks
R.S.

Please let me know the data source. Do you execute any transact sql statement?
Thanks

No I have not executed any transact sql statement.
My code is like this :
cmd = New SqlCommand("Select * FROM student_details", con)
If con.State = ConnectionState.Closed Then con.Open()
myDA = New SqlDataAdapter(cmd)
Dim myDataFillSet As New DataSet()
myDA.Fill(myDataFillSet, "student_details")

I think you are using... whatever .. update the SQL statement by using SQL JOIN.
Thanks

You ARE using a query to get the original data, just run another query to get The DISTINCT name values.
SELECT DISTINCT(StudentName) FROM Student_Details ...

I hope this is the right area, but I was working on this project and I'm a little stuck and wanted to know if I get can some help. We have a page in our site that we just added that allows some of our customers to add new users to their programs by filling out a form and submitting it, all of the fields are saved in a Database and used to create the agent record and fill out those fields in there. But before the agent can be added there is a four part review that needs to take place and within each step there's different options for approval/decline/more information. Here's my problem, or where I'm stuck:
How to you get a table to have it's own buttons that correspond to each row of a database. If I use the GridView I'm stuck using only the buttons they allow (such as the Edit button and Delete button) but I wanted to have a View button that would either open a PDF File or Pop Up window displaying all of the information entered on the form that's stored in a Database. I would also want a button that could be used to either Approve (which would update the Status field in the Database to the next step) or Decline (which will allow the reviewer to enter a message that can be seen in the Notes section of the Table and Database).
I was thinking that maybe a JavaScript type table could be used, this way the table can expand to show the documents if they click a button and there may be a time where supporting documents could be added to a user but I don't know how that will play into the design of this area. I don't know if I'm looking in the right area or if I should be looking at something else, since I've been having trouble with the Gridview in Visual Studio 2005, or maybe it is possible and I just don't know how to set it up correctly. Thanks.

This isn't the correct forum. You're more likely to get a reply in the ASP.NET forum.

Thanks, should I just make a new thread in that forum or will this one get moved by an Admin?

I'm not entirely sure whether admin will move it or not. What I would do is modify the title of your post here to make people aware that it is the wrong forum and then re-post in the ASP.NET forum.

Hi all,
Thanks to all who have replied to my earlier posts.
I have an application, that is published on the server.
I want to display the published version number during FormLoad event.
I used the below code:
The version displayed is '0' insted, the version on the server is '13'.
Is there some other way to get the version of the application that the enduser is using?
Thanks in Advance.

Can you clarify your problem,
Do you mean you are using a different application to try and determine the file version information of another applications exe?
or are you looking for code for the application to display its own file version to the user, if for example they click about?
Its just that your code above is pointing to an HTML file which from my experience will not have file information embedded.
If the html content contains details about your application, then you would have to read the contents of the file and parse out the version data contained within.
