First, there is no .NET version of the MSFlexGrid. It's just an old ActiveX control that you can still use in your app though.
How many row does your grid have? Your loop says there are 11, number 0 trough 10. If you do have 10 rows, they'll be numbered 0 through 9.
For intCount = 0 To 9
grid1.Cell(0, intCount).Text = "Hello"

Hello welbert,
There was a Microsoft FlexGrid for VB 6, but it should still be available in .NET, although it will probably not . Is this what you are using. It was based on an old version of our VSFlexGrid. We, ComponentOne, also have an updated FlexGrid for .NET 1.x and 2.0. I am not sure which one you are using, but each version has the rows indexed from 0, so you are right to start intCount at 0. Keep in mind that 0 to 10 is 11 rows, not 10 rows. If you want to add "Hello" to all rows, it would be better to use
For intCount = 0 to Grid1.Rows.Count -1
Grid1.Cell(0, intCount).Text = "Hello"
Next
This way you know that the index will always be in range, even if rows are added or deleted later. If you still have trouble, please let me know exactly which grid you are using, and which build, then I can provide better assistance.

Hello,
Am very new to software development. Please help me out in developing a code which helps in communicating with parallel port thro Visual basic. i found inpout32 dll. But don know how to use it. Kindly do the needful

You won't get an answer to your question in this forum. Instead, look a bit closer at the Code Project website (and Google) and use their Search functions for help. There are MANY hits for the subject of using a parallel port via VB.
If you have a specific question we are more than happy to assist.

to use crystal reports in vb.net
follow the following steps..
1. put a crystal report viewer(select it from the tool bar) in a form.
2.create a crystal report.(go to project menu click on add new item, select crystal report and follow the wizard).
3. to access this report. you can use the following code
CrystalReportViewer.reportSource="..\reportname.extension"

Anybody has idea how will i connect my crystal reports on a trusted connection.
My code goes like this:
<br />
Dim CRReport As CRAXDDRT.Report<br />
Dim crDBTab As CRAXDDRT.DatabaseTable<br />
<br />
For Each crDBTab In CRReport.Database.Tables<br />
crDBTab.SetLogOnInfo sServerName, sDatabaseName, sUserID, sPassword<br />
Next 'For Each crDBTab In Report.Database.Tables<br />
If I am to use a trusted connection sUserID and sPassword must not be supplied coz the Windows Auntheticity will be used, anybody has an idea on how it will be done?

Hello guys..
Need help on how to get the maximun number of days in a month using DateTimePicker vb.net2005..... ???
Tnx in advance....
|
|
|
|
|
You don't need the date time picker. DateTime.DaysInMonth() will do this for you, the datetimepicker probably calls it.

Does anybody have a tested working example of the ReadProcessMemory API,
written in VB.net that they could kindly post?
Including correct declarations.
Thank You.

About the best article there is, using ReadProcessMemory, on CP is this[^] one. It's in C#, but the code is convertable to VB.NET.
I've used his code in an application myself, without any problems. I'll be putting an article together fairly soon that uses that very same articles code.

Thank you for your reply.
I am aware that the internet is full of code examples of ReadProcessMemory in C#, C++ ect, but I can never get the conversions to work, which is why I am looking for a code snippet in VB.net to work out where I have gone wrong.
Thanks again.
PS Is your application in VB.net?

Thank you Duncan,
I found your code elsewhere after I posted my original request.
It looks very interesting and hopefully the solution I am looking for.
Thanks all.

I have tried the following code but get:
An unhandled exception of type 'System.NullReferenceException' occurred in WindowsApplication2.exe
Additional information: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
<br />
'public static extern int AVIFileCreateStream(int pfile, out IntPtr ppavi, ref AVISTREAMINFOW psi); (C#)<br />
Declare Function AVIFileCreateStream Lib "avifil32" Alias "AVIFileCreateStream" (ByVal pfile As Int32, ByVal ppavi As IntPtr, ByRef lParam As AVISTREAMINFOW) As Int32<br />
<br />
Private _aviFile As Int32 = 0<br />
Private _aviStream As IntPtr<br />
<br />
Dim aviStreamInfo As AVISTREAMINFOW = New AVISTREAMINFOW()<br />
(then set some attributes)<br />
<br />
_result = AviFile.AVIFileCreateStream(_aviFile, _aviStream, aviStreamInfo)<br />
The problem occurs on the last line. This was part of my C# to VB conversion attempt of
http://www.codeproject.com/cs/media/aviFileWrapper.asp[^]

hmm, have to remove the stuff after .asp on that link thanks.

I'd say an out parameter also needs to be byref.

problem still occurs with this, after changing to by ref, unless u meant change it another way?
<br />
Private _aviFile As Int32 '(or = 0 as well)<br />
Private _aviStream As IntPtr<br />
Dim aviStreamInfo As AVISTREAMINFOW = New AVISTREAMINFOW() '(and fill some vals)<br />
<br />
Declare Function AVIFileCreateStream Lib "avifil32" Alias "AVIFileCreateStream" (ByVal pfile As Int32, ByRef ppavi As IntPtr, ByRef lParam As AVISTREAMINFOW) As Int32<br />
<br />
_result = AviFile.AVIFileCreateStream(_aviFile, _aviStream, aviStreamInfo)<br />
thanks

In other words, you hope that someone else has written the code to do this, and you can just call it ? That means you have no desire at all to make an 'object tracking algorithm'.
