One line at a time....
Seriously, a histogram just reports the spread of data, so I assume you just iterate over the data and store what you need to generate the histogram.
foxylady wrote: How to design a menus to change control properties?
Add menu items, attach event handlers and write the code to change the properties.

You need to write your own message box class. Not sure how flexible the status bar panels are.

hi! here's my problem...
i'm developing a service which monitors some servers for it resources...so, i was thinking in using a timer for the monitoring process...
reading some arcticles, i've noticed that it's much better to implement the timer with the system.threading.timer class...
so, as there will be many resources being monitored, i was thinking in using threads for the implementation...
my question is? which is the relation (if any) between the threadpool class and the system.threading.timer class? i don't get the idea why it isn't recommended to use a simple timer with the threadpool class...
if anyone can help me on this i'll be very thankfull!

No, you most definately do NOT want to do this, EVER! This will bog your app down so badly as to make it unusable and will quite possibly run Windows out of handle resources to boot. Also, just repainting this window will take about a week and a half.
What on this earth requires you to put 8,000 controls on a form???

Thnx a lot for reply.
My boss wants me to create this desktop app in vb.net which requires a huge amount of textboxes.
I had a meeting with him yesterday ....and his idea of this wierd code is to create a excel like application ...well a very small excel like app.
He wants to have this form which looks like an excel sheet.
Is there any other way by which i can achieve this ...(apart from using excel objects ..hehe
I hope you get the basic idea ...
any help is really appreciable.
thnx.
Swammingo.

What?? Forms in VB.NET don't open in any mode, except modal or not. Is this an Access form?
rahsi wrote: combo box does not show its selected value
If the form just opened, no it won't. There is no selected value unless your code sets it first. What are you trying to do with this?

Hello,
I have created a prompts table with an promptID, English and French columns. On my form will be a button that when clicked, whill change the text on my lable from english to french.
What would be the best method for this task? Is there anything in visual studio, Vb.net that can automate this?
Thank you,
Rashar

It would appear that your database isn't where the report expects it to be. Are you using an Access database? Did you hard-code a path to this database that exists on your development machine, but doesn't exist on your clients?

How do you mean ? You're value for num is always 0 ?
campbells wrote: sory to said that i cant use the "for loop" cause i cant use too much array where my system cannot handle with it so used in the old method.
Rubbish. This is just a pile of rubbish, sorry.
The core problem is that the code is a mess. Hard to read, hard to maintain, if a single extra line ends up in the text file, it will all fall over. Your data should be comma delimited so that one line of text is one record, that would make things a lot better than they are now. Then you should be using string.split to turn that into an array of values, and a switch statement to read the data based on the first value.
