You're going to have to try adding the COM components to the toolbox in VB6 and try it yourself. Usually, once people go to VB.NET, they don't go back to VB6 (unless absolutely forced to.)

in my project, i use toolbar toolbar in my buttons...i used case structure for the functions of each buttons in the toolbar but theres an error in it...
my codes goes like this:
Select Case<br />
Case 0<br />
Dim subjects As New subjects<br />
subjects.Show()<br />
Me.Hide()<br />
Case 1<br />
Dim file_maintenance As New file_maintenance<br />
file_maintenance.Show()<br />
Me.Hide()<br />
Case 2<br />
Dim grade_entry As New grade_entry<br />
grade_entry.Show()<br />
Me.Hide()<br />
End Select
is this code correct???
or this:
dim keyin as integer <br />
Select Case keyIn<br />
Case 0<br />
Dim subjects As New subjects<br />
subjects.Show()<br />
Me.Hide()<br />
Case 1<br />
Dim file_maintenance As New file_maintenance<br />
file_maintenance.Show()<br />
Me.Hide()<br />
Case 2<br />
Dim grade_entry As New grade_entry<br />
grade_entry.Show()<br />
Me.Hide()<br />
End Select<br />
in the first code, there is an error so i can't run my program...
in the other code, the 1st button is only functioning...
what is the really correct code for this???

in the first case statement:
Rharzkie wrote: Select Case
This should be Select Case myVariable where myVariable is the variable you are referencing to.
The second one seems fine, there must be an issue in the way the keyIn is changed, it must not be being changed when the other buttons are pressed.

|
|
|
|
but when i used the 2nd codes, the first button is only functioning...in the other button, the function also same as the ist button (it should not be the same)...in short, case 1 in only functioning but the others did not...what's wrong with that???

|

like The ANZAC said the second case looks to be correct the problem may lay in how you change you're variable keyin
perhaps debugging the project and looking at when the keyin variable is changed or not changed will help you further
from the behavior you described my guess would be that the keyin variable isn't changed therfor the same code is excecuted for all buttons

That is all.

Hi Guys,
Would you be able to help me find the code for a program that finds dead links and orphan file in a webpage developed in pure HTML. Actually, its my project for my course. I have tried for weeks and code project is my last hope.......
Thanks

You'll find the code when YOU write it. isn't that the whole point behind the course? YOU write the code and learn by doing so? What skills are you going to show off by using someone elses code? "This is how I have people write my code for me!"

You've already passed you're last hope of someone writing it for you. We're you're last hope when you get stuck writing your own code.

vb.net 2005 + Access database.
I have created dataset with wizard.
In one situation i want to use the RowUpdated event of Dataadapter.But how to get the dataadapter because it's only tableadapter and there's no Rowupdated event for tableadapters.
|
|
|
|
|
Mmmm ...
Are you wanting to intercept the saving of data to the database
or just looking to get the table's rowchanged event?

Hello !
this.cmbCurencyType.DataSource = ds.Tables["ss"];<br />
this.cmbCurencyType.DisplayMember = "CurrCode";<br />
this.cmbCurencyType.SelectedItem = "CurrName";
so i have 2 columns in the DataSet in the comboBox the value of the column CurrCode is displayed.
I put a label beside where i need to display the value in the CurrName Column according to the one selected in the ComboBox.
can someone help me
Thanks in advance
Assaf

The SelectedItem property takes the item to show, not the name of a data source. You want to set the DataMember ( from memory ) to CurrName, then handle the selected index changed event and set your label text there.

Yep, that's how I understood the question.

You got one right, DisplayMember. I think the other property you need is ValueMember, not DataMember.

hello,
Is there a way to freeze the system time, so it shows like "10:30" all the time or "23/8/07" ?
thanks.

you could write code that sets it over and over to the same time, otherwise, no.

Hi,
if you mean you don't want it to alternate between date and time, it helps to give
it sufficient space to show both. My task bar is vertical at the left, and it
shows three lines: time, name of day, date.
if you mean stop the system clock, then a) you can't (and that's very good)
and b) you would better not show it at all (uncheck Taskbar/Properties/Show Clock).
Finally you can create your own clock; there are CP articles on that.

I meant stopping, and I thought that's not possible, but I've saw a project on RAC about programming such an app, and there were some bids on it. so I got a little confused
tnx

OK, then you need GetSystemTime() and SetSystemTime() in kernel32.dll
plus a bit of PInvoke.

RAC has always been populated by retards. I would expect to see just such a project listed there, and plenty of people will bid on it, then ask here how to do it. They will end up with an app that does what I said ( set a timer, and every time it fires, set the clock to the same time )
