i am developing a project with VB6 and Firebird 2.1.3. When i update the table tblPartyMaster and examines the adoRsParty!PartyID which is a primary key,autoincrement, unique identifier returns 0 (Zero) instead of New PartyID Value which i need for further processing.

I have create a Generator for PartyID
and a Before Insert Trigger on table tblpartyMaster as

Please Suggest me some ideas for fetching the PrimaryKey (PartyID) Value of newly inserted row.

You can use a storedprocedure, I think trigger is not convenient. Just use an Output parama in your code. If you face any problem please let me know.

From my Delphi and Interbase days I remember that the methodology the OP is using (before insert trigger and GEN_ID) is the recommended way of doing things.
Unfortunately I have never tried to access Interbase/FireBird from VB and therefore am unable to help.

I Created a procedure instead of Trigger along with the generator and called the procedure from the front end for autonumber, it works fine.

Stop posting your homework questions.
We do not do homework, we help people who are stuck with specific problems.
You will not pass the course if we do the work, so if you want to be a developer you must knuckle down and do the work yourself.
If, having tried and run into a specific problem, then post, and people will be pleased to help, that's how it works.
But to just say 'Here is my homework, do it for me' indicates you are not going to learn, you are not interested in passing the course and that programming is not for you.
Have you even bothered to attempt the answers?
Now either try to do your own work, or consider a change of career, something clerical perhaps, of something manual, like gardening.

You didn't ask a questiont hat could be answered. All you did was copy and post your homework assignment. Noone here is going to write it for you, period. You won't learn anything and you definitely are not going to pass your exams if someone else writes it for you.
If you've got specific questions on what you're having trouble with, great. Post them with all the relevant details and code you've written. If you're looking for someone to do your work for you, you've come to the wrong site.
