Hi..
I use vs.net editor to create web pages and use asp , VBScript..
A problem that will drive me mad is that i can't debug neither ASP nor Client side script..(I can't make break points , step through code etc..)
How can i make it in vs.net or any other way ?
I prefere vs.net to Interdev because of its ease of use and autocomplete and intellisense in for html tags..

Your web folder should have Front Page extensions installed, there you can enable/disable debugging (which is disabled by default AFAIK)

Can I programatically control the browser's navigation buttons in my code? For instance, the user can navigate to several diferrent pages in my web application, but whenever he hits the "Back" button in IE, it always brings him back to the main page.
The reason I want to do this is the following. Lets say that the user clicks on a link to go to a form from my main page. He fills out the form and clicks "Submit". My code then clears the textboxs. Now when the user clicks "Back" on the browser, the textboxes become refilled with stuff that he just typed in. I dont not want this. I want him to be taken straight back to the main page when he clicks "Back" in IE.
So is there a way to control the browser's navigational buttons in my C# code? (or in javascript)?

I think there is a meta attribute that will cause your page to expire so when users click back they get nothing but an error indicating the page is no longer available!!!

Can somebody go about showing me how to make a nice simple asp.net app that can just take an email address from a text box then record it to a simple .txt file, after clicking on the submit button??? I'm not that far into asp.net yet, and I can't seem to find any articles on the net on doing this...
Can somebody write on out for me? (im sure it couldn't be that long...)
Does anybody know of a website that show how???

1. Make sure ASP.NET user has write permissions for the file or directory.
2. Use the .NET File class to write data to file.

I'm working on a file management application that has several *.aspx pages. On the main page, it shows a list of files and folders. When the user clicks on "remove file" button, a new form (removefile.aspx) loads up and has a button to remove the selected file(s). This action physically deletes the file(s) from the server. There's also a "done" button on that page that reloads the main page and refreshes the files/folders list.
However, if the user does not use the "done" button to go back, but uses the broswer's "back" button, the main page loads but the files/folders list is not refreshed.
How can I make it refresh?
One more problem is that I often get this message when using the "back" and "forward" buttons on the broswer:
"The page you requested was created using information you submitted in a form. This page is no longer available. As a security precaution, Internet Explorer does not automatically resubmit your information for you.
To resubmit your information and view this Web page, click the Refresh button. "
Lastly, when I click on "refresh" button of the browser, it says "page cannot be refreshed without resending the info. Click retry to send thei info again."
How do I prevent all these problems?

 I am looking for help with a function either VBScript or JavaScript for a document tracking system.
I have a data entry form where I browse for a file to fill in a field in a DB Table, all I need is the path to the file or a UNC link to the file. I have found lots of snippets but they all lead to the file being imbeded in the table.
Any Suggestions?

</form> Make sure you leave the form's enctype set to its default value: "application/x-www-form-urlencoded". This way, the file will not be uploaded to the server when the form submits.
Once received by the server you'll have a variable, named path, that will contain the filepath.

Does anyone know of a free Windows GUI-based application that can open and read raw web log files and provide reports on unique visitors, hit counts, etc.? It needs to support the basic log formats (IIS optional).

Although not a UI based app, Webalizer is extremely good. There is a windows port for it. Might be useful...

I am creating a web page with a user name and password. When a valid entry is given, the user will be shown a page with links to four different Access Projects, which live on a server. I want to use the Access front-end, so I just want to link to the .MDB file directly.
When I make a simple html page, the database opens, but after I close the Access project, I get a prompt to enter the password. I have never set up a password, so I am stumped as to why this is occurring.
Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you.

I have created a VB Script that reads and write a file. Problem is that while the script loops through the file it kills the processor causing time out errors on other processes. In VB I could use the DoEvents method to give the processor a chance to catch up. Is there a function like this I could use for VB script?
