Hi everybody,
I am not able to focus a textbox when i am running the application in ff.Its working fine in IE.
when i am using setTimeOut() it is giving some other type of problem.
Please help!!

It is not working.....
the actual scenario is i have a textbox for DOB and submit button.
On Blur() i check for valid date and donot allow the user to leave with a wrong date.

My sites is getting very big, a bit too big for my shared hosting environment. Therefore, I am looking at splitting it across subdomains, eg.
www.myapp.com
blogging.myapp.com
etc.
I use a cookie to authenticate in www. Will the cookie be guaranteed to "survive" when transitioning between www and blogging sub-domains?

I think path/domain (Need to check) should be set to myapp.com right? Then it should seamlessly work across all domains.
But again, it WILL NOT work for https:// and http:// since you can not dynamically toggle SECURE attribute in both the cases right?

I just would like it confirmed before I buy the web space!
No problems with http/https at this stage.

In the Input Type File control used for file Upload, I am facing the following strange issues.
1) If the user just types a b c into the textbox and clicks the submit button, the browser seems to be submitting something to the server but actually nothing goes to the server. It just looks and resembles hanging.
2) I thought of having a readonly attribute but then even the browse button click does not popup the 'file Picker' dialog. Of course, the disabled button behaves extreme by totally making the control as ineffective.
I did a search through past user experiences with this control over here: http://www.codeproject.com/script/comments/search_comments.asp?XtraIDs=1640&searchkw=file+upload+javascript&sd=1+May+1977&ed=30+Jul+2007&author=&stype=1&forumid=1640[^] But I don't feel this issue has been covered and hence starting a new thread.
Any workaround of disabling the TEXTBOX component of the File Input button so that the user has to use the BROWSE button only.

i have a form that include combo box which contain all axps pages in my web project
my case is>>>
when i choose each page from the combo box i can call each control in the selected page to load them in the main form
so i have to make a function which take my page.aspx name to return all controls in this page without open this page i mean without open the selected page previously:-> .
my problem is i cant accessing any page in the main page

Didn't I answer this already, in two different forums ? You can't. The other pages don't exist, when your page is running.

Recommended. Why do you want to reinvent the wheel by writing a similar function and unnecessarily wasting your billable hours for the client? Also, a new tool should need that much amount of aggresive testing also to ensure its robustness.

i am getting the following error while running the application:

Your connection string is not working. This could be because it will run under the ASPNET user, not the user you're logged in as.

You can generate connection string by creating new file with extension .udl
open that file or open its property and select your database and click on ok.
you can see your database's connection string by opening that .udl file in notepad programe.

I want to create a web form.In this form I have a data Grid(GridView1). This grid view contains some rows that fetch from a table of a database.I want to insert a button at the last column of each row, This button must update a row which selected which but I don't know how to insert this button and how to write click event for each button

Add a new column to the gridview. The type of column to add is Command Field. So if you are in the design view of the aspx file, click on the gridview. Then go to the properties window and file the columns property. click on the button which will bring up the fields dialog. Select the command Field and click the add button.
As far as dealing with the actual code, there are two ways to do it. If you are using an objectdatasource or a sqldatasource, then in that control you point to the correct method to do the update insert delete. If you aren't using one of those controls you need to implement the gridview command method. Then check the e.Command to see if it is "Insert", "update" etc.

we recently installed the sourceforge forum system on our server (MS SQL 2005) and were excited how well it worked.
However, after the most recent MS update, and using the compiler Visual Webdeveloper Express, we are suddenly receiving the error message:
"An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007000B)"

Hello,
I'm trying to run the simple movie player demo from silverlight presented in MSDN Mag[^] july edition.
So, I downloaded the Silverlight SDK (which is a .js file) and installed the beta version of the plugin. However, I can't get the demo to work right, and I have no ideia as to why. Is it necessary to run the website with .NET Framework 3.0? Or am I doing something wrong?

I want to create a dynamic drop down menu using asp which will have a default value.
I am very much new to asp so i am not able to find out how to do it.
Well i want when a user clicks on a link, the page will populate all the values in the drop down list which i have to get from a databse and makes a value(which i know) as default.
Can any one please help me out how should i proceed.
