Actually I want know that your website is static or dynamic? what things you are using to develop your website? Because already I gave you solution in ASP.NET but you don't want that because you are not using ASP.NET, so tell me clearly.

Just use php then. Solved. You will not complete this task without the help of an active server (i.e a server that executes scripts/native code) - one that does more than merely fetch and transmit html pages.
Hence the suggestion for ASP.NET, being that this is a Microsoft-centric site and all
1. Open image
2. Render text
3. Save file with temporary name
4. Generate html page with link to newly created file
Two things to watch for:
1. Don't forget to clean out old temporary images.
2. Don' forget to put code into step 4 that to suggest to the browser what it should should call the file when the user tries to save it - this will prevent the user from getting file-names that look like md5 hash-codes, or anything else similarly illegible to normal, un-RainMan-like humans. - Or at least, it'll stop them getting files with the same name as the temporary one that you create on-the-fly for them.
Take a look at XAMPP($free), if you haven't already. One of the included examples generates flash (.swf) files on the fly from user entered data. Altering still-images was a snap last time I tried it.

He wants to actually draw the text on the image itself - not overlay it using html/css commands.

Try this article.
Render Text On A Bitmap (and other stuff)[^]
It shows you how to render text onto a bitmap.

Unfortunately, that is in C# I need it to be something on the web.

Web or desktop, it doesn't matter if you want to embed the text in the image itself.
Just create the image with the text written "on" it, then use that newly created image in the web page or return it to the browser in a stream if it was part of a separate request.

Perhaps there's a way with HTML5 ? And if not right now with all browsers, I'm sure in the future HTML5 will provide that functionality in their canvas tag.

Hi,good morning.
Now,there're two system . One is by java on B/S,one is by delphi on C/S.
I want to connect the two systems use WebService to transfer public data.
Which webservice framework do you choice in java?
axis2? XFire?or the other one?
Which supports multi-language best? Why?
Is the webservice for delphi hard to connect the java program?
|
|
|
|
|
i recomend you use XML , remember with te XML you dont have worry about interop between the two systems, there some functions in www.codeproject.com to use with Java and Delphi
Good luck!
P.D. all the web services return XML Body. think about it.
let me find one function that i have in one of my projects, so i can share with you.

Hi,
I am still thinking what's the difference between the shared hosting use to exists months ago and the cloud hosting everyone is talking about?! any technical difference r it's pior marketing?
Thanks
|

Cloud is indeed mostly marketing talk, but companies are now more actively and on the foreground developing stuff for it which is probably the major difference. Basically it was there also 4 years ago... So you are correct

Every time i am about to post a thread i get an answer while typing the message, maybe i explain it to myself better when i write it , OK so if you have seen this post it means i have not find an answer
I have a Silverlight app that passes a query string to an asp.net page that has an iframe that is hosting a third-party gateway page as depicted below
<form id="Form1" runat="server" method="post" >
<input type="hidden" name="p1" value='<%=(MerchantID) %>' />
<input type="hidden" name="p2" value='<%=(GetNextTransID) %>' />
<input type="hidden" name="p3" value='Purchase credits' />
<input type="hidden" name="p4" value='<%=(Amount) %>' />
<input type="hidden" name="m_1" value='<%=(Userid) %>' />
<input type="hidden" name="m_2" value='<%=(Schoolid) %>' />
<asp:Panel ID="Panel1" runat="server">
<table class="style1">
<tr>
<td class="style2">
</td>
<td style="text-align: center">
</td>
</tr>
</table>
</asp:Panel>
<div id="layer1"
style="position: absolute; width: 759px; height: 357px; z-index: 1; left: 88px; top: 233px">
<iframe id="iframecredit" name="I1" src="https://www.vcs.co.za/vvonline/ccform.asp"
style="width: 744px; height: 333px; margin-top: 16px; margin-bottom: 0px;">
Your browser does not support inline frames or is currently configured not to display inline frames.
</iframe></div>
<p>
<asp:ScriptManager ID="ScriptManager1" runat="server">
</asp:ScriptManager>
<img alt="Ecash" height="609" src="images/BG.jpg" width="924" />
</p>
</form>
This payment gateway page accepts the parameters as you can see them there, so i have Properties that has values [B]"After the Page load"[/B] so i cant get the values of the Query string before the page load. now the iframe will load with empty values, now i want to initialize the values before the iframe gets displayed
so my Page load will look like this
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
m_SchoolId = Request.QueryString["SchoolID"];
m_MerchantId = Request.QueryString["MerchantID"];
MerchantID =m_MerchantId;
Guid g;
g = Guid.NewGuid();
GetNextTransID = g.ToString();
m_Userid = Request.QueryString["UserID"];
Userid = m_Userid;
Schoolid = m_SchoolId;
m_Amount = Request.QueryString["Amount"];
Amount = m_Amount;
}
I can step through this and i can get the values that i expect , but the problem is that the iframe URL get rendered first and obviously the values of the page load wouldn't have have values by that that time, how do i bypass this. any idea?
Thanks

Hi,
I am working on my website and found it would be easier to have main hyperlinks on top of the page as drop down menus, the same as on this site, but not sure how to do that. I have previously used flash menus on some websites I have created but don't like those since search engines can't read flash. I already searched online but can't find an easy answer on how to do this.
How can I do this?
Thanks in advance
In the end we're all just the same

Hi, just grab the source from this page[^]
I found it by looking for CSS menus, btw. They're usually just order/unordered lists that have styles applied in such a way as to create a drop-down.
|
|
|
|
|
Thanks, I did see that but didn't realise the menu changed when you clicked the CSS menu you wanted until I went on the link again, that will be perfect.
In the end we're all just the same

Hi All,
I am using ActiveXObject to launch a local machine program executable from a web page. The javascript code for this is as follows:
var shell = new ActiveXObject('wscript.shell');
shell.Run('myapp.exe');
The application runs fine. The application is a c# windows application that just runs some code then closes. I decided to add a NotifyIcon to the application so I could give the user some feedback on how things are going.
Generally, this works fine - If I launch the application manually from my machine, the process runs and the icons shows with notifications. However, if I run it from the web page (using the javascript), the code runs fine but no NotifyIcon and no Notifications.
Can anyway shed some light on why this is happening? I am, assuming that the ActiveX code is just launching the application like I would do manually - but there must be something different with how it runs that is causing the issue.
Thanks for any help
I may or may not be responsible for my own actions

make table width to 98% and also panel width to 98%, i.e.

<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="width:98%;">

guys;
I use to style states of an element rule:stateName like
.commandbutton {}
.commandbutton:hover {}
but i have found in 'Ajax Control Toolkit 3.5' that they are using javascript events to change class name of the element in the different states.
what i don't understand is why should javascript events be better then element states?
Help people,so poeple can help you.
|
|
|
|
|
They probably opted for the javascript way because not all elements support multiple states, eg: the hover state is only supported for A tags in some older browsers.
Javascript is supported in even the oldest browsers still being used, so its support is a bit wider spread.
