As an alternative you could use a popup window in place of the confirm dialog.

If you have a special path you need to use perhaps you should consider putting it in the web.config file? You could put it in appSettings.

Thanks for the reply Yes I found the appSettings in web.config file

You put an entry like this:
<add key="FileDirectory" value="c:\order\Working" />
And access it like this:
In .net 1.1 it looks like this.
string val = System.Configuration.ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings["FileDirectory"];
It is a little different for .net 2.0
Let me know if you need to know how that looks.

Hi all,
I built a website by asp.net, and now i want to test it's performance when many users access it.
And i know i must use a tool called "Thread test" to test performance. But i don't know where to download "thread test" tool.
Please give me a link to download "thread test" tool or some guide to test it's performance.

Well, that would be silly.
Look at the HTML being generated, see if you've got characters that are not being sent to safari, or if you have CSS issues, or whatever.

Hi Christ,
Yes you're right re-coding is really big job to do.
I made sa sample website that will simulate my problem.
Try accessing my sample site http://cvd.harnesstheweb.com.
Try accessing it thur IE6 or IE7 they have the same result, and that's fine.
But when accessing it thru mozilla firefox you will noticed here that the yellow stripe on the header image is gone.
I simulate it using mozilla firefox, because it says that safari, firefox and IE5 is at the same level of the browser used in mac machine.
My problem is I don't know if how to resolve this problem.
I hope you can help me with this.
Thanks

Hi Jimmy,
Thanks for the information.
I am actually made some adjustment on my asp.net code because I have found out that there are some colors in clone pc that doesn't recognize by mac. And in this case, instead of re-coding everything, I only made some modifications on the colors. And I am using now the universal color combinations that gives the same result to any browser including mac. So working fine now when I'm running it thur firefox, the yellow stripe below is now displaying.
And also I have just read an article about the new framework that soon to be released this year. It's about the WPF/E. And the good thing about it is that, it will work for both clone pc and mac.
Thanks Jim

Hi all,
Did any one come across displaying custom tool box on a webpage in asp.net ?
Example: just like we have toolbox visual studio 2005 where we can drag controls on designer page.
We need similar functionality to do on a webpage where we have to create a user controls and these user controls has to be populated on a toolbox inturn users will drag and drop those controls on a certain location on a webpage.
How cane we handle this situation on a webpage? Is it through AJAX?
Please help me in putting down your ideas here. Appreciate your help on this.
Krishna

Its sounds to me like you want something similar to the WebParts framework. Although I don't care for it much myself you might have a look at that.

hmm not exactly webparts! because at the same time we need to handle control resizing as well. What if we need to place many controls over the webparts. Can it handle ?

Hello all,
I m using 12 SP, 7 include files in a ASP file.
Now problem is that, that page is not opening or its takeing 2much time to open & some times my server shows 100% CPU usage.
What should i do to make it fast??????
Thanks,

It is unlikely to be the includes - I often have ten or more.
Can you add timing code around the stored procedure calls to confirm how long each one takes?

I actually tested the performance of include files a few years ago. It showed that you can have a hundred include files without any noticable performance hit.

Thanks for the response.
Please confirm the include and iframe sequence which are being used in the main page.
The page has 4 tabs, which are used to call 4 different pages.
Response.buffer=false
For case 1 to 5
Case 1 then include page 1 and activate the tab (by display: none)
Case 2 then include page 2 and activate the tab (by display: none) etc
Page 1 has
3 include pages
4 iframes and each iframe has one page
for ex. loadme frames src is a dds.asp?id=10
the dds.asp has response.buffer= true and response.flush()
Yes, the sp are not taking too much time. it will take from 40 sec to 70 sec.
Please look into the above sequence and correct me if i am wrong.
Thanks,

Why are you turning off buffering? Normally there is no reason to do that.
Still, there is nothing in what you describe that should take 40 seconds to execute.
Is it the page containing the iframes that takes time to load, or the contents of the iframes?

You should start by identifying what part of your code it is that is taking time. Nothing of what you mentioned gives any clue to any performance problems.

Yes,
I have added 4 iFrames also in that page & that pages also have some SPs
I m not able to find out that part which is takin time..
