Javascript is a client side scripting language.
What you need is a server side scripting language to process the transmitted form variables (transmitted via either get or post form method) and fill in the fields from the transmitted variables before sending the DHTML for the second page to the client's browser.

hello frnd,
after filling all the values on form no 1
place the button there named "Submit" and on submit click called a function in Javascript and use the
Window.open()
method and in that use the request.query string method
it will open the form2 and display all the member on form 2
OR
use the hidden variables,

or in javascripts you could use cookies to save values and reload these datas in another page, sure, the guest must enabled the cookies in your navigator.

Write a proc that does the insert for multiple records. XML is the best way to pass multiple records, OpenXML can turn that into a table, which you then insert into your main DB.

recently i moved my website from unix hosting to windows hosting that only supports IIS and not apache. in the site i have a folder called /registered_users which can contain basically any sort of file. now since the .htaccess script handler is not there everyone can go access the file. the username and passwords are about 500 and password obviously is encrypted. I have a sql table that has unencrypted user/pwd now how could i create sumthing similar to what was there earlier. there are like hundreds of html pages within that folder which are added/deleted automatically.
I simply want to give access to entire folder if they login successfuly.
please help

this is working only if its aspx page not when its a html page.

True. Web.config is parsed only it comes under the control of ASP.NET runtime.
I think you can make MimeTypes in IIS updated so that HTML pages are also wired through ASP.NET. But be aware that this might be a performance tradeoff.

I have an asp web application using Microsoft's Index Server as the search engine. How does the Index Server determine ranking?
ie: I search for "merger"... search returns 8 results. For whatever reason the result with the most hitcount is at the bottom of the list.
The first 7 results are .asp pages... these rankings appear to be correct as the hitcount goes from highest to lowest. The #8 result is a "PDF" file but has a hit count of 25.
1. Is there an order that the Index Server queries the different file types and returns the results in the order that they are found?
2. Is there a way to search with multiple words? Ie: I want to search for "ice", "cream", "cake". Any documents with "Ice cream cake" would be ranked at the top, then any combination of 2 out of the 3 words, then down the list to matching only one word. When I use "and" in the query string, it returns only exact matches, of course using "or" will return results matching any of the words and the documents containing all 3 words are not ranked higher up, but ranked as if it was only matching one word.
I've read 'vector-spacing' queries accomplish this but haven't found any code on how exactly it is implemented. My query string is below.
oQuery.Query = "@all "& strQuery & " AND NOT #path *_admin* AND NOT #path *images* AND NOT #filename *.class AND NOT #filename *.asa AND NOT #filename *.css AND NOT #filename *.js AND NOT #filename _*.*"
Thanks.

You could have broken the query or formatted it to fit the resolution. It breaks my screen alongside crossing a wear-and-tear of my new HP mouse on constant pulling and dragging of it.

|
|
|

Haha, sorry for you having to scroll to see the code, first time poster.
oQuery.Query = "$content "& strQuery & " "&_
"AND NOT #path *_admin* "&_
"AND NOT #path *images* "&_
"AND NOT #filename *.class "&_
"AND NOT #filename *.asa "&_
"AND NOT #filename *.css "&_
"AND NOT #filename *.js "&_
"AND NOT #filename _*.*"
Better?
I changed the @all to only search in the $content and sortBy hitcount achieved exactly what I wanted.

I am calling a method getDirectories() present in an Applet which returns a string value, am
calling this from the javascript. When I run this script from the Internet Explorer, the
getDirectories() returns “C:, D:” but when I am calling this method from the Firefox it
returns [Object Event] but I am expecting “C:, D:”. Can you please help me what should I do
to get the correct string value.
Thanks in Advance

To use an IMG tag without the src attribute?I mean what kind of assholes did they hire to write Opera? I've been wresting with various Opera idiosyncracies for three days now, and those are enough to drive someone to commit hara-kiri, although this particular issue here applies to Safari as well.
From what i know, a SPAN element is supposed to be nearly equal to a DIV , with the exception of the latter's paragraph breaks, although i realize that in practice it's not exactly the case. I've run into issues before where IE incorrectly applies height and width to span s, making them inadequate for the purpose i intended, but i've been able to use another method to accomplish the same thing, so it worked out okay. But this problem here involves the rendering (or more precisely, lack thereof) of a background image applied to the span via CSS. I've been looking for a fix for perhaps an hour or two, but then stumbled onto the solution by sheer accident, when i made a mistake of assigning the wrong class name to a different element, which was off by one character. With the same idea in mind i was able to use a malformed img tag to correct the problem i was having and it isn't an outrageously ugly hack, but considering that i try to keep my work 100% semantically correct, it's somewhat of an eyesore.

No, that's really not correct at all. Both src and alt are required attributes, and should never be omitted.
Of course, most browsers will let you get away with omitting them, especially alt ... but still, you shouldn't.
Why, if i might ask, would you want to do such a thing anyway? IMG elements have some very odd rendering behaviors in most browsers, and to my knowledge can never be used as a container for text or anything else... so what's the point of using one with no src ?

Do you have a link on any article about "supermeta" tag ?

I was joking - there is no such thing. The point is, work on your content instead of looking for stupid tricks.

I'm asking about a third party control here because it's fairly well known, and its 01:10 here and I still have far to go. I'm trying to extract values from the inForm autogenerated editing controls on a telerik rad Grid. Despite setting a column's type to e.g. Int32 I still get exeptions because the DictionaryEntry's value is always a string. Any advice?
private void grdEmployees_UpdateCommand(object sender, GridCommandEventArgs e)
GridEditableItem editedItem = e.Item as GridEditableItem;
Hashtable values = new Hashtable();
e.Item.OwnerTableView.ExtractValuesFromItem(values, editedItem);
User usr = new User();
Type t = typeof(User);
foreach (DictionaryEntry field in values)
{
PropertyInfo prop = t.GetProperty(field.Key.ToString());
if (prop != null)
prop.SetValue(usr, field.Value, null);
}

Hi there
I've been working on this problem for ages now and it makes no sense. I have a create user wizard and wish to put variable within it, the problem is that i cannot for some reason see these variables from the code behind file. Below is a basic example of the aspx file:
<asp:CreateUserWizard runat="server" ID="CreateUserWizard1" AutoGeneratePassword="False"
ContinueDestinationPageUrl="../GeneralForms/Default.aspx" FinishDestinationPageUrl="../GeneralForms/Default.aspx">
<WizardSteps>
<asp:CreateUserWizardStep ID="CreateUserWizardStep1" runat="server">
<ContentTemplate>
<b><asp:textbox runat="server" id="txtTest"/></b>
</ContentTemplate>
</asp:CreateUserWizardStep>
</WizardSteps>
</CreateUserWizard>
Now the bolded text box for some reason cannot be seen by this web pages code behind file. Does anyone know why or have a solution.
Thank you so much in advance for any help. I'm going CrAzY!!
Devin

Hey Devin,
I faced the same problem before. Sometimes this happened when The asp Control is placed outside the tag. Check your code and see if that is the case.

Throw something like javascript:alert(unescape("http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Eprintroom%2Ecom%2Fpreview%5Flarge12%2F64249086%5Flt%5F%2Ejpg")) into the address bar and you'll get what you want...

It is in URLEncoded format. Call Javascript unescape("http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Eprintroom%2Ecom%2Fpreview%5Flarge12%2F64249086%5Flt%5F%2Ejpg")
