use inline javascript or clientscript block to achieve this functionality..

for example

1) scriptText = "window.alert(dsfas)";
ClientScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock(this.GetType(),
"CounterScript", scriptText, true);

2) Page.RegisterClientScriptBlock mehtod

Alert is a client side operatoiin where as Response.Redirect is server side. You can't do both at same time because in your case you first need alert and then redirect. Soluton would be to out put some javascript that in turn do the desired task for you. For example try something like below in your ASP.NET code where you want this behaviour.

<codepage.registerclientscriptblock("alert-script", "alert('your="" alert="" here');window.location="http://yourdomain.xyz" ;");="">

can any one confirm that i want to implement passport based authentication in asp.net

and latest sdk found on microsoft website is 1 year old and only works for iis6

i am using iis7 is that obsolete or any other alternative way to implement this...

any help would be appriciated...

first post is 6 years old and second one is related to iis 6 i want to implement it on iis7

or do you have any latest article related to this.. i have found SDK which is also 2,3 years old... Frown | :(

It seems that Passport authenticaiton no longer supported in Windows 2008 and Vista.

Customers using passport should consider moving to its replacement Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS).

ok - displaying a datagrid and using the ButtonColumn for the column. The text shows as a link and I want to control the display of the link. The gb is GridBody, gt is GridText and ac is AlignCenter. No matter what I play with in the CSS, it will not remove the link apparence in the datagrid. I have the .gt:link defined in the css, but no effect. Any ideas?

The CSS would be for a hyperlink. I think if you don't specify a class name it will apply to all controls.

Hi
I have an asp.menu control on my form, and I have problem with the rollover.

When my mouse runs over the controlthe sub menu items appear from the side as expect and the little black arrows come out from the side to show those menu items, but the little black arrows do not all line up underneath one another after the mouse has rolled over.

Is this an error with the ASP.Menu control, and is there away to get them to all line up?

Are you using CSS Style sheets with your menu control. Which ones do you have defined?

You best bet is to post the code for the asp:Menu items and all supporting tags (style) along with your style sheet.

You may want to ensure the width of the dynamic menu items are 100%, especially if using IE.

Yes, I am using CSS on the menu control.

The attributes I am setting are DynamicHoverStyle, DynamicSeletedStyle, DynamicMenuItemStyle and StaticHoverStyle. They have been set to 100%.

Sorry, I can't copy it across because it is on another machine.

I have tracked the problem down to StaticHoverStyle attribute in the Menu Control.

All I have in my menu control is as follows:

On the CSS for StaticHoverStyle, I have:

background-color:Silver;
color:White;

What is happening is that my arrows all line up on page load, but when you rollover the menu items in the nav bar or menu control, the arrow does not reset to its original position. How, do you get it to reset after rollover with CSS, or in ASP.Net?
