System.Security.Cryptography has got many classes to work with encryption. What do you mean by using encryption algorithm in login page? Are you trying to encrypt the password?

hi i am designing a web site in which i want to execute different ACCESS queries after a specific time interval ex:- 5 SECONDS.

I would look into writing a windows service that runs in the background to perform such a job, rather than trying to write it as part of a web site. A service is autonomous, and can be guaranteed to be executing so your job will run on the appropriate schedule. Its difficult, if not impossible, to make such a guarantee from a job triggered by an ASP.NET process.
Just a word of warning...executing a query every 5 seconds against a database could cause problems with performance and load. It might be better to reevaluate why you need such a job, and perhapse approach it in a different way (one that does not involve executing queries against an access database every 5 seconds). A windows service could still provide a host for your job.

Why do you need an update panel for this ? If you do it entirely in local javascript, you could use firebug or similar to debug it.

As I said I was new to ASP .NET and your comments did not lead me to an answer just more questions ( I am not familiar with firebug?). I began trying this without updatepanels and I followed the suggestion to use the updatepanels to eliminate the need for significant coding to achieve the asyncronis updating. Both methods have rendered the same exact results, the image does not refresh even though the imageurl has been changed.

this is interesting and I will give it a try, but my current Masterpage does not have the updatepanels in it, they are in the content pages. I utilize the master page for multiple pages in the website I am building. Which I believe will require a different solution. I can create a different masterpage if necessary.

Does anyone have an anwer to this problem? It seems to me that there is a timing issue involved here since the textbox updates but the image does not. Surely I am not the only person that has tried to update a imageurl in an updatepanel? This seems that this should be straight forward using updatepanels, so is there a problem with updatepanels and timing of triggers?

I'm working with a Repeater control in asp.net.
I added a server control to the Repeater's Header Template.
I'm trying to get a reference to that control programmaticaly, can't figure out how to do that. Is it not possible?

You need to look for it inside the repeater, with FindControl, I guess.

Looks like the first control in the Controls collection is the RepeaterHeaderItem, it can be found there with FindControl.
Won't finding the the Items collection.

Hi~
I have a user control with a gridvew that contains a checkbox and textbox. The textbox is set to Enabled=false by default.
On Page 1: the Header of the checkbox column is "Remove" and there is a Save button. On this page I need all UNCHECKED rows to have an enabled textbox
On Page 2: the Header of the checkbox column is "Select". On this page I need all CHECKED rows to have an enabled textbox and all others to be disabled.
How do I create the javascript for these requirements? I am using asp.Net and C#.

This javascript is getting written via a StringBuilder in the .aspx.cs file of each page. Currently, I can only get the script to work properly for Page 2. On Page 1, I need the textbox to always be enabled unless something is checked. What is the best way to enable the textboxes on this page?

Can you use an ajax solution to post back and enable / disable all of the controls in server side code?
Otherwise, your best bet is to create a public static string property in server side code such as textBoxIds. On the item databound event of your grid,
set

Then add javascript to iterate your comma separated string on client.

Hello Experts,
In populating a DataGrid a couple options include (but not limited to):
- use of a Typed DataSet
- use of a Custom Collection of Objects
From some reading, one of the (apparent) drawbacks of a Typed DataSet is performance. One alternative is to use Custom Collections instead.
Has anyone done any benchmarking on this issue (of populating a Gridview using Typed DataSet VS Custom Collection)?
