I have a an application which runs on powerbuilder and .net. A powerbuilder function calls .net page. This page has inherited from master file(.net 2.0 app.master file). In master page it checks the cookies and checks the application login details. when the control is transfered from power builder to .net page, the page is showing error at master page. it is not reading cookies...showing "object reference not set to an instance of an object". It was working fine before but all of a sudden it started showing error....as powerbuilder and aspnet files are in different folders i checked the app pool...both are running in defaultapppool....i wonder y the .net file not reading cookies. I got some other .net files in same folder which inherits same master file are working fine when they are accessed through hyperlinks on main page of pb(.htx file). Can any one faced this kind of problem...please help me......thanks for u r time....

How do we check whether they are enabled are not...i can see a cookie file in client machine which is deployed when the application is started at first time...i believe as the redirection is occuring in server itself without coming to client machine may be the file not finding the cookies.....can we check cookies stored in win 2003 server....is there any work around to pick cookies?

I am using System.Net.Mail namespace for sending mail from my application. (ASP.Net/ C#.Net 2.0)
MailMessage myMailMsg = new MailMessage();
would like to add the recepients (MailAddress) here in TO or CC or BCC.
Question:
1. What would be the max no of MailAddresses can be added in the MailMessage object's To, CC & BCC? My expected no users will be around 2000 to 3000.
2. Is it good approah to call the Send() method of SmtpClient Class only one time?
Can you pls suggest the best practice on this?

If you try and send 2000-3000 e-mails using .netmail then surely it will just hang the application.
How big are the contents of the e-mail?

Well, I believe the maximum number has nothing to do with the .Net framework but the Mail Server capacity.

Is it depends on the mail server capacity? Let me check with my Admin.
Is it good approach to send mail to more no of users individually? (ie) Call the Send() method several times.

Max limit of TO, CC,BCC is 50 for each, taht will make 150 for the 3

I have to make a gridview which has the posibility of dinamically adding new rows .
In a first instance i made a gridview with an empty row, but i have to create more rows when the user fill all the cells of the row and press the tab key.and once i would be able to make it how i willbe able to save the data what i filled manually
it is urgent

Of COURSE it is. Because your rentacoder deadline is tonight, right ?
You'd use AJAX to do this, and javascript to insert the new row and to send the data back to the server to save it. There's probably a control in the ASP.NET AJAX library that does it already.

i have addeded new row but it does not seems so satisfactory(as my requirement is) but bcos as code for generating the new row is in Prerender event
so when u fill the record and click to addnew row button .
then bcos of postback all created row gone and so i dont find myself be able to prevent this

Hi,
I'm working as Systems Analyst and working desperately on ASP.NET using c# and MS SQL Server as Backend on a pilot project but now Company Top Level panel asking me to shift the Project in PHP as FE & MySql as BE; please do suggest me is it the Best Option.

If you want to make it crap, just convert it to VB.NET, no need to go to PHP :P
Seriously, this is a nightmare, tell him to get stuffed. There's no way to do this, apart from starting again and writing it in PHP.
The thing that gets me is that people ask how to do stuff where the obvious thing to ask is why ? I mean, ask the guy why he wants it in PHP, then explain to him why it's a dumb idea. He probably read something on the toilet that convinced him that PHP is cheaper and somehow better for not being microsoft. Which makes him a retard. Your job is to educate him.
