Hi every one.

I have a problem, I have called a javascript function on the change event of dropdown list. When I use empty alert('') msg that function is called, if alert is not used then it does't fire the function.

Hi,
i have uploaded my sit to web server goddady.com
i have a button to download dyanmically generated excel file.This button is ajax enabled.....When i am click on this button it will popup a message like

"That assembly does not allow partially trusted callers"

I have a requirement in which I want to hide list(viewstate) which save previous values entered in textbox and list get popup while entering text in textbox.

I mean I want ot clear viewstate values of textbox.
is there any way to remove viewstate of control.

1. Can a webpage contains two different languages...i.e suppose one method is in c# and another method in vb.net?

2. Can a website contains 2 different languages..i.e Suppose one page is in aspx.cs and another one is aspx.vb etc..?

2 - yes

The reason is, the compiler builds your app code, and turns it into a dll. It then builds an instance of your page when it's rendering it, and it can do that, and load a dll that was built in a different .NET language, and as only one page at a time is compiled, different pages can be in a different language without it making any difference.

I've used to this migrate a site from VB.NET to C# a bit at a time in the past. But, the app_code classes I needed to convert all in one go, b/c they cannot be mixed.

I think no you can't have like these but why you want to use 2 languages

Yes your website can contain as many languages that supports CTS.
Just you must have there dll then you can use them.

Note : - All languages(supported by CTS) creates assembly of same IL.

I'm using DataList for displaying records. I've,for example, 22 records
and using paging for 5(5 records per page) but last page holds only 2 records that's why these two records are being displayed in the middle of the page but i want to display these two records at the top..... plz follow this link and click on >>and visit the last page for understanding more i want to say

Your page is a disaster. You have styles defined willy nilly inside table elements. You have a /TD with no opening TD. All your HTML is in capitals. And the section you refer to, is an inner table and the td that contains it, absolutely does not contain any tags to force the alignment of the inner table in any direction. So, set the style of the td so that it's contents are aligned to the top, like I said in the first place, and it should be fine.

I developed a project in asp.net with vb.net.
Now i want to apply AJAX concept for 2 pages how can i do this?

Well, the obvious way is to write the code.

Do you have a specific use for AJAX, or did you just read about it in a trade journal and decide to use it ?

There are two ways to do this.

1 - download and install the ASP.NET AJAX library, and use controls from it. This is easy, but it won't teach you anything about AJAX
2 - buy a book and learn how to write AJAX code, and then write the code as needed. This is slower, but you have more control and will actually learn about AJAX along the way

Hi using ajax i did autofill the text in my textbox,
But same time when auto fill the text in that textbox that selected text value also i like to get...,

Means suppose in that textbox(autofill) i select one student name,
His "ID" also i want to get,

In dropdown we will use text field "name" and value field "ID"...,
Like that i want to display name in that textbox and consider person and his id want to be hidden area,
How to do that?,

When you fill the textbox with student name automatically it will store in text property of the textbox at that time you can store Id in tag property of the textbox and u can retrieve the same as textbox.tag but i dont knw wether it works for autofill

Loading pages should be showed before the next page data are loaded. help me friends.

How may i know calculate the next page controls are loaded?
Is there any methods to find out this problem?

Note: I don't want using ajax controls

Ok I ll use ajax. How want a solution when i search a list of data for a certain search. In the first page, i have to search and th resulted 50000 rows of data are loaded into the datagrid in the third page. third page will take time to load data so in the mean time i ve to show a waiting html page for browsers. Please help me using ajax...

First page - should be a search page
Second page - should be a loading page
Third page - should be a result page consists of bulk of data in datagrid

Wow - how do you hope your users will navigate that much data ? I hope you have viewstate turned off ?

My suggestion is to use a gridview and use paging so that users don't see that many records at once.
