Hi,
I am using a Master page in my project which is displayed with each webpage i open on clicking respective hyperlink.
Now what i want is... i want to display the Title of the webpage which i have clicked to open, to be displayed in a label which is placed on the Master Page.
And the name of the lable shuold change every time a webpage is opened depending upon its Title.
how to do this?

Hi
for that you have to find label control of master page from content page,
and then you can change text of label there.
lbl=(Label)Page.Master.FindControl("MyLabel");<br />
lbl.Text = "My Test Page";

Instead of finding the label control, I'd recomend you to put a public property on master page and set it from the content page like Page.Master.LabelProperty = YourValue
Why I suggested this than finding control is, if your label control got renamed, then you need to change in all the content pages. But if you are exposing this through a property, it is enough to change only in one place.

Im a learner in ASP.NET.
as on the sites like mail.yahoo.com , there are 2 textboxes
1 is for user n another is for password.
Im making 1 simple project in ASP.Net which includes..........
usernameTextbox &
passwprdTextbox
now here how can i make passwordTextbox as protected means when anyone will enter their password it will go like *********
if password is codepro then it will show *******
there is no option for this in textbox properties.

if you re using VS2005 you can cheack the textmode property of textbox.
just put the value to pssword.plz let me know wheather it help out u or not

The Input Type Password would mask the characters bieng typed. However, ensure that the password still goes unencrypted over the wire.

Hi All,
I am using two types of reports in my project
One is crystal report
and another is Excel File
it is running on localhost very easly
but when i published my website and run it into web browser and IIS this is showing some error in web.config.
I think my crystal Repaort assemblies tag generate this error.when I closed the crystal reports tags from assemblies tags then web site run proper way but report are not working..
so anyone give me Idea what I can do for my crystal reports and my excel sheet than it'll run easly into web server...

and suggest to make a custom error page
I think u can understand tht error

That is the title of the page. There should be some message like 'Unrecognized', Assembly missing or like that. Get that error message.

It is a simple plain vanilla English error message that gets displayed. Any kinder garten kid can also understand that.

No there is not that type of message
it is showing me a yellow page for configuration error
I add reference from com component for crystal reports
the following are the elements of my web.config...

I am using temporary gridview. when I delete row in gridview then create a error (There in no position 0) . I am using this code.

here u are creating new Datatable object. And then trying to delete from that. So how it will work ?

I can't seem to get this to work. I just doesn't do anything at all. I've been working on it for about a week and I think I'm doing something fundamentally wrong here. I know I'm executing my Calendar1_DayRender event because when I just make it draw peachpuff for a background color it does it. However I can't get the access to my document to go right. I'm not really sure if it's accessing my document correctly, and the debugger isn't communicating to me. Is there a better way to do this? (such as putting the data-access in a different method and calling it from the event?)

the main problem for me is select a row anyway i have done some thing like this

Hi,
to get SelectedRow you have to Create an event of TestGridView_SelectedIndexChanged.
Here in this event you can get selected rowindex as well as any cell's value from selected row.

Hi,
I want to use a search criteria within my datagrid. I am havin a textbox within my application wen i m entering some data into it it give me the respective result but i want in such a way that it should show all the records first then after entering some data it will search the record within the datagrid.

It's usually a better idea to send your search criteria to your data source and let it do the filtering for you, and your code just handles binding to the data returned

This is a good Idea for searching I rectnly complete it into my project
the steps are follows....
1.Fill a DataTable and Bind ur grid at first time with this DataTable
2. Set a DefaultView for the above DataTable.
3. And filter this DefaultView with with ur Search Text Box Value...
4. At last Bind ur grid with above DeafaultView in a Search Button Click or any other event...
