well, if you don't post the code...
what if you run the same code within your database itself ? Obviously inserting values, does it work ?
If password is a reserved word ( I don't think it is ), putting it in [] will work, for SQL Server at least.

I don't really know whether password is a reserve word or not but i renamed it to pwd and it worked.

i have some categories but i like to only save their ID in my database
i'd like to know where should i save their names and IDs? in xml file? dataset? or what?
and how can i call their name by their ID?

Your database should have a seperate table that maps Ids to names.

Here is another question
i have a TreeView in my page and i have a table in my database that has these columns: RecordID, CategoryID, CategoryName, Parent ID
how i can bind categories to this treeview that it first show parents then their childs?

Alternate you can store ID and Value in an XML file if it is a fixed number of Items and the number of items are not going to change often. Reading from the XML file will be bit faster than Querying against the Database.

You can't, no such thing exists in HTML, and that means the only way to do it, is to write a browser plug in, which is code that your users have to install, and will not be anything to do with ASP.NET.

Hi Everyone,
I am using a web part in a page for the first time.To try how it works i did in a sample page where i first added a webpart manager and a webzone with a label control with some text.
When i try to run i get a run time error saying
"When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)"
I dont have sql server in my local machine but should it be needed.I am not trying to connect to database. Then why i couldnt run.
Kindly clarify me

Hi,
In my web application i want to maintain list of number of user is online.
If one of them close browser without sign out then he/she will not be displayed in list.
And also i want to restrict multiple login by one user in different browser.
