You can use the javascript and asp.net control on key press events.
However because users can turn javascript off in their browser then it may be better to use the server control onkeypress

It totally depends upon project to project.

I want to control the formatting of native type in my ASP.net application globally. For dates and times, I have used something similar to the following -
Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture.DateTimeFormat.ShortDatePattern = <config value="">
Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture.DateTimeFormat.FullDateTimePattern = <config value="">
I need a similar method for floats and doubles, as larger values get displayed in the exponent format (1E+...), which sometimes doesn't play nice with some javascript validators.
Thanks.

Basically, I have a menu button on START.ASPX that fires off a javascript postback w/ script redirecting the page to GOTO.ASPX.
But the click on the Nav button just posts back to START.ASPX.
Moreover, START's form tage is coded as
but when I view source in browser the action="START.aspx".
I need the form top runat server, so how can I have the Nav button correctly post to GOTO.aspx?

|
|

|
I believe runat=server form would always reset the form action to the same page.

However you do need the runat tag for any server controls inside the form to work

This question has nothing to do with ASP.NET.
If you google, you'll find good articles on the printing framework in C#.

I have a DataBound CheckBoxList. It works fine if the number of selection is incresed, but if it is decreased, then it doesn't work - keeps the old value.
Here is part of my code:
<br />
if (!Page.IsPostBack)<br />
{<br />
cblRole.DataTextField = "ROLE_DESC";<br />
cblRole.DataValueField = "ROLE_DESC";<br />
cblRole.DataSourceID = "dsRole";<br />
cblRole.DataBind();<br />
}<br />
protected void btnSaveRole_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)<br />
{<br />
}<br />
protected void cblRole_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e)<br />
{<br />
}<br />
Any ideas? Thanks.

Is this for a web page (HTML)? If so there is no such thing as a "Label Box". You will have to learn HTML well enough to intelligently formulate your question if you want us to help you. For Learning HTML and Javascript try the tutorials at www.w3schools.com as a starting point.

Wow, I thought I was in a different forum, my fault.
This asp.Label
<asp:Label ID="labelTest" runat="server" Text="Label"></asp:Label>
Becomes the following in the browser (you can see this by using the browsers "View Source" menu item)
<span id="labelTest"><span id="labelTest">Label</span></span>
So for IE Browser (I don't know about a cross browser solution) the script would be:
document.getElementById("labelTest").innerText = "Hello World";
Keep in mind that ASP can alter names if they are nested inside ASP container controls so using the View Source is a way to determine that.
