If you created a newly empty project? That maybe causes the error. I suggest you create a normal project including default files like default.aspx etc. And then delete these default files and copy your files to the new project.
Generally, the path of source codes is stored in the .sln file. You can open it with NotePad to check it.

I thought that's pretty much what I did. But instead of deleting the files, I copied the original source for default.aspx, web.config, and global.asax to the files created by the new project. Then I copied each file in with "add new item". And I just now looked at the .sln and everything that seems to reference a path has a reasonable directory path in it, like so:
Debug.AspNetCompiler.VirtualPath = "/ProfRev"
Debug.AspNetCompiler.PhysicalPath = "..\ProfRev\"
But it sounds like it's time to start over, because maybe I zigged when I should have zagged. New project, copy in default.aspx, etc.; then add one file, build the page, add another file, build the page, repeat for 31 pages. Sounds like a fun thing to do on a Friday, huh?

Within a stylesheet I copied to an ASP.NET project, the compiler does not seem to like the first line in the stylesheet.
Any idea why?
@charset "UTF-8";
@import url("reset-min.css");
body{
font: 62.5%/2.2em "Lucida Grande", Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
color: #4b4942;
background: #fff;
}
...

How did you placed the stylesheet? Where did you placed it? Did you deployed the application in IIS?

I copied the stylesheet over from a template, and, I plan to use it as a Masterpage on my website. The application is deployed within the local IIS for now.

I am using the following code to populate a GridView in
protected void Button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
String selectCommand = "select top 1000 claimid, formtype, status, totalpaid, paiddate from claim";
SqlDataAdapter ad = new SqlDataAdapter(selectCommand, SqlDataSource1.ConnectionString);
DataTable dt = new DataTable();
ad.Fill(dt);
GridView1.DataSource = dt;
GridView1.DataBind();
}
This works, but I have AllowPaging = true, and the first time I click the "Next Page" button, I get a "PageIndexChanging not handled" exception. I have not setup a PageIndexChanging handler, but I didn't think I had to in this case.
BTW, when I populate by just setting the GridView1.DataSourceID to a SQLDataSource, the problem does not occur. Paging works fine.
What am I doing wrong? Thanks! Mark

Hi try this in your pageindexchanging event
gridview.pageindex = e.newpageindex
String selectCommand = "select top 1000 claimid, formtype, status, totalpaid, paiddate from claim";
SqlDataAdapter ad = new SqlDataAdapter(selectCommand, SqlDataSource1.ConnectionString);
DataTable dt = new DataTable();
ad.Fill(dt);
GridView1.DataSource = dt;
GridView1.DataBind();
Hope this one can help.
Thanks

You are binding the DataSource manually, so in this case you have to override the PageIndexChanging and PageIndexChanged handler. For example,
protected void GridViewXXX_PageIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
this.SqlDataSourceXXX.SelectCommand = "XXX";
}
protected void GridViewXXX_PageIndexChanging(object sender, GridViewPageEventArgs e)
{
this.GridViewXXX.PageIndex = e.NewPageIndex;
}

you don't have to specify message.isbodyHTML if you want to set it false (that's default)
But for failing to send the message...Do you have IIS and SMTP setup correctly on your local machine that's running this?

I need add a confirmation box while updating modifications in the Edit part via GridView_RowUpdate.
MessageBox only works as server-side, but not client-side.
I did some search and found that I can extend the properties of commandfield.
But the problem is how can I call the new extended namespace/class from my current page in website?
Assembly only works for project right?
Thanks a lot for your response.

Our team have released LiveUI.net which should help with ajax development. It would be great to hear your opinion. It is absolutely FREE, source code and demo are available at http://liveui.net.

The examples look nice. I'm currently using Telerik for my UI so I don't need another tool. However, if I was working for a small company with a limited budget I would investigate further.
I didn't get any requirements for the signature

Thanks for your reply.
Teleric controls are realy cool. But there is a conceptual difference between LiveUI and Teleric. Teleric provides controls whereas LiveUI provides application layer. Ideally, with LiveUI you do not have to write JavaScript or something like that, it helps to works on higher level of abstraction. Just download demo from this url and look its source code, it looks principially other way than teleric samples.
For now, we support Extjs but in future we can support Teleric also . So, I do not regard Teleric as a rival but as a potential partner.

I would suggest if this post was in http://www.codeproject.com/Forums/1651/Collaboration-Testing.aspx[^], you can expect more people to colloboratively contribute towards testing it and sharing their views.
You may like to request the site administrator to move the thread, in case you wish so.

Thanks for idea. But I thought this forum branch would be interesting to almost all asp.net developers whereas Collaboration and testing branch does not seems to be too popular among us.

hi,
I have a gridview in my page which has the linkbutton as template. I used rowcommand to process in the codebehind and this will download the mpp file to the server. I have an isssue here because am using response.binarywrite in the method. When i googled out i came to knw this can be resolved by adding the control in postback trigger but the control am using is the linkbutton template control in the gridview. Kindly let me know how to pinpoint this control in the trigger.
Thanks

Hi All,
I have been investigating a production issue for the past couple of days and hope that someone out there might be able to help.
Situation:
I have deployed a web application (IIS 7, Windows Server 2008).
The website makes extensive use of AJAX and at certain points dynamically loads User Controls.
These dynamically loaded user controls allow users to specify certain parameters to pass to SRSS reports. The reports are run in local mode on a separate web form by using the ReportViewer control. The web form is opened by simply calling the JavaScript window.open() method, passing the required parameters.
Issues:
There are two issues that occur, but ONLY if the website is run as a stand alone application, as opposed to running from a virtual directory under a web application i.e. http://url.co.uk does not work, http://url.co.uk/dir works:
1) If the dynamically loaded User Control contains a link to an external JS file, you are prompted for Windows Credentials.
2) If the JS is inline within the User Control, issue 1) is Ok, but then attempting to open the report and run it again prompts for Windows Credentials.
I have played around with all permutations of permissions and impersonation within IIS and the Web.config, but nothing has worked as yet.
If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly apprciated!
Thanx
Clean code is the key to happiness.
